Manufacturing Robotics Technician

As the Automation Engineer, you will be responsible to install, maintain, and troubleshoot site robotics, to provide safe operation with maximum production availabilty.

Automation Engineer Duties:

• Assists in the construction of robotic equipment, collaborating closely with engineers

• Tests robotic systems to ensure they are working properly before use

• Installs and programs robotic equipment in a manufacturing facility

• Troubleshoot robotic systems, using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics

• Operates the equipment or oversees the operation of robotics equipment

• Analyzes and categorizes events within the equipment

• Works closely with engineers and production team to help achieve a desired output

• Conducts preventative maintenance, such as routine upgrades and inspections

• Repairs robotic machines, systems, and tools as needed

• Disassemble and reassemble robots or peripheral equipment to make repairs; such as replacement of defective circuit boards, sensors, controllers, encoders, and servomotors

• Install, program, or repair programmable controllers, robot controllers, end-of-arm tools, or conveyors

• Align, fit, or assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes

• Prepare procedural documents

• Trains others to install, use, and service robots

• Develop robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality.

• Comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies

• Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Technical School Degree or Associates Degree in a related field; Completion of accredited program

• Professional certification

• Minimum of 3 years of experience troubleshooting robotics; including servos, sensors, control component, PLCs, VFDs, MMI, Service Panels & MCCs sensors/instruments, valves/motors

Physical Requirements:

• Must stoop, bend, reach, walk; perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull or do fine manipulations

• Required to stand for prolonged periods

• Intermittently lift medium to heavy weight up to 75 lbs.

• Intermittently required to bend and twist
