Second Shift Quality Assurance Tech needed for busy Central Asheville Manufacturing Facility

Requirements:

Job Duties
Monitor product quality through regular sampling of cards in active production and performing visual and quantitative tests, including barcode and mag stripe encoding quality. Ensure product matches the appropriate job instructions including artwork and data proofs. Manage line rejects. Prepare production reports and perform various computer data-entry tasks.

Responsibilities

Inspect product on the manufacturing floor and in the QA Lab
Sample active production and perform qualitative and quantitative testing
Audit manufacturing process compliance at different stages
Follow job ticket information for the specifications of product and materials
Use test equipment to evaluate characteristics of raw material and finished goods
Use computer systems to track their time, activities, and product movements
Work as part of the team to coordinate compliance to ship dates.

Skills

HS Diploma or GED
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Attention to detail and accuracy
Able to work well independently or in a team
Excellent verbal skills to communicate with employees on the production floor and stop the production process when a defect or flaw is identified
Good analytical and problem solving skills
High standard in computer literacy
Ability to become technically competent in the manufacturing process to be managed
Ability to prioritize work and work as a team to meet shared schedules

The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.

This employee works with leaders across departments to redesign the GMP training program for new employees and develop training platforms for all Operations personnel, Laboratory technicians and Quality associates. The Quality Trainer works with individuals and groups to ensure compliance with FDA regulations and satisfactory understanding and adherence to Gaia Herbs' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Methods, and with managers to develop key training platforms and objectives for GMP related job descriptions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Works with Laboratory, Operations and Quality Management to determine training platforms for all new GMP employees * Works with Document Control and management to ensure new GMP employees are properly trained before released for independent work * Evaluates new GMP employees for compliance and competency in their functional area before being released for independent work * Participates in Material Reviews and CAPAs, particularly when there is a need to review training procedures or individual/group training * Writes SOPs, reports, investigation summaries and other necessary documents that relate to training based activities * Audits GMP training programs in all functional areas on a biennial basis to ensure the training program is sufficient * Reports monthly metrics as they relate to the training platform Supervisory Responsibilities None Qualifications Education and/or Experience * Bachelor's or Master's Degree in the sciences, liberal arts, or education field, OR more than 10 years' experience in a Quality Assurance role with training responsibilities (official or unofficial) in a GMP regulated industry * Technical writing experience is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Excellent interpersonal skills * Ability to manage databases, spreadsheets, etc. to ensure deadlines are presented and met in a timely fashion * Strong technical writing ability, such as SOPs, quality investigations, and test methods * Ability to participate in root cause analysis * Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization * Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals * Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs Physical Demands Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
