Job Summary Statement:
This position will provide leadership, direction, and control over all facilities equipment and auxiliary in the plants, ensuring maximum reliability and flexibility, and contributing to 5% year-over-year productivity gains.
Capital planning and program facilitation for Manufacturing.
Cradle-to-grave project management including conceptualization, development, justification, implementation, documentation, and tracking. Projects to be delivered on-time, on-budget, and on-quality. Typical projects include:
plant facilities infrastructure
core equipment installation (Blow molding, Injection machines)
new product launches
Serve as subject matter expert for facilities - i.e. Resin delivery system, Plant Utilities, Overhead Crane Systems, etc.
Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Actively seeks out and pursues process improvements and production cost savings, through the reduction of overhead and direct labor.
Equipment design, specification, and oversight of fabrication; to include equipment prints, run-off and overall project management of the introduction of any new equipment, including core equipment and auxiliary equipment.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes on the shop floor: Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
Supports New Program launch control - concept to production; ensures plant facilities can support aggressive product growth and provides team leadership and participates in regular meetings throughout project.
Initiates corrective actions, investigates and determines root causes and implements effective corrective actions for manufacturing processes.
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Provides Technical reports summarizing investigations, qualifications, and experiments as required.
Supports Igloo Management Operations System (IMOS) with written SOPs and related documents as required.
Provides technical and strategic leadership to Igloo's maintenance teams.
Provides support to Marketing, Quality, Finance, Sales as required.
Provides leadership and mentorship of fellow engineers and process technicians.
Participates in and support Igloo Lean Sigma program.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
Experience: Minimum six (6) years engineering and manufacturing experience. Minimum three (3) years project management experience with a proven track record in project management, equipment design and improvement
English language skills: Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
Math skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Physical Demands: General office and Manufacturing environment. Able to perform any job on shop floor.
Work environment: Production floor is hot and humid in summer months, cold in winter months.
AutoCAD experience and competency in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is a plus
Experience with plastic molding processes such as blowmolding, injection molding, and thermoforming a strong plus.
Knowledge of Oracle or related software.
Basic Ergonomics and Anthropometrics Principles.
Auto Cad or plant layout software expertise.
People skills: team player, good negotiator, good under pressure.
Project Management skills.
Ability to manage suppliers through design, quote, fabrication, and run-off process.
