Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, you will be based in our Carol Stream manufacturing site and will provide project organization and leadership to support the business and improve manufacturing efficiencies, while reducing costs and maintaining compliance of all assets with applicable legal or company standards. You will implement projects of any kind, from the idea to handover to the user. This includes revamping, renovating, engineering studies, expansion and new construction of buildings, labs, offices, manufacturing plants or utilities.

  • Project execution: Manage all phases of the project from concept through implementation, with a focus on overall project management and coordination.

    Accomplish scope development, cost estimates, project justification, design, and construction phases of assigned projects. Must provide high-quality work within budget and time constraints and observing all the design and construction parameters (EH&S, GMP, federal, state, local & company regulations).

  • Cost control/management: Manage outside contractors, engineering services, and consultants to complete assignments.

    Develop scope and expectations for each outside service/contractor and monitor progress, quality of work, and cost. Recognize cost deviation ahead of time and apply corrective measures.

  • Team Collaboration: Manage multi-disciplined teams, reviewing performance and progress.

    Identify gaps and develop action plans to keep all on track and able to achieve desired end results. Produce all required design documents: Develop specifications and sketches necessary to complete projects. Obtain bids, construction services, and complete purchases of required equipment and services.

You?

  • Bachelor of Science (or MS) degree in Engineering and 5 or more years elated experience.

  • Project management skills and the ability to influence direction of high complexity, large-scale projects. Accomplished in capital project design, cost estimation, and schedule monitoring, plus experience managing multidisciplinary teams (including internal specialists, clients, senior management, consultants and contractors).

  • Can analyze current processing techniques and drive improvements and change management.

  • Technical skills with a working, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), and MS Project is required. Working knowledge of SAP is desirable.

Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, you will implement activities to support manufacturing strategies and participate in the definition, development, submission and implementation of capital improvements for building utility or manufacturing processes and equipment for our Carol Stream manufacturing facility. * Strategy design and execution: Provide input to the local Maintenance plan and goals with regards to production capacity, schedule of maintenance activities, changes in equipment, spare parts inventory, and the like. Apply preventive maintenance plans and maintenance support to improve availability, and reliability, of plant equipment and prevent business disruption. Provide support to engineering projects concerning operative procedures and equipment installation trials. * Partner Collaboration: Coordinate work of suppliers, monitor their performance, and escalate issues to the E&M management and Procurement for resolution. Provide input to the definition of maintenance budgets based on maintenance requirements i.e. resources, materials, duration and the like within the assigned area of activity. Conduct audits/inspections to ensure compliance of installations, equipment and users with EHS and QM policies. * Lead, Mentor, Train: Lead a team of maintenance specialists which executes maintenance activities, typically for a specific process area or technology. Oversee human resources processes for the local Maintenance team and validate related results. Guide the development and promotion of talents within and outside the function. You? * Bachelor's Degree or Vocational diploma in Engineering or related discipline (pre-university level). * Plant Engineering or Maintenance certification preferred. Continuous Improvement Methodology (Lean/Six Sigma) * 5+ years in manufacturing or plant operations, 2+years of experience in people management * Experience in industrialization and engineering projects with focus on testing activities. * Knowledge and application of project management techniques with basics of financial concepts (e.g. OPEX, CAPEX). * Experience with process mapping and design. * Good knowledge of EHS rules and guidelines.
