Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, you will be based in our Carol Stream manufacturing site and will provide project organization and leadership to support the business and improve manufacturing efficiencies, while reducing costs and maintaining compliance of all assets with applicable legal or company standards. You will implement projects of any kind, from the idea to handover to the user. This includes revamping, renovating, engineering studies, expansion and new construction of buildings, labs, offices, manufacturing plants or utilities.
Project execution: Manage all phases of the project from concept through implementation, with a focus on overall project management and coordination.
Accomplish scope development, cost estimates, project justification, design, and construction phases of assigned projects. Must provide high-quality work within budget and time constraints and observing all the design and construction parameters (EH&S, GMP, federal, state, local & company regulations).
Cost control/management: Manage outside contractors, engineering services, and consultants to complete assignments.
Develop scope and expectations for each outside service/contractor and monitor progress, quality of work, and cost. Recognize cost deviation ahead of time and apply corrective measures.
Team Collaboration: Manage multi-disciplined teams, reviewing performance and progress.
Identify gaps and develop action plans to keep all on track and able to achieve desired end results. Produce all required design documents: Develop specifications and sketches necessary to complete projects. Obtain bids, construction services, and complete purchases of required equipment and services.
Bachelor of Science (or MS) degree in Engineering and 5 or more years elated experience.
Project management skills and the ability to influence direction of high complexity, large-scale projects. Accomplished in capital project design, cost estimation, and schedule monitoring, plus experience managing multidisciplinary teams (including internal specialists, clients, senior management, consultants and contractors).
Can analyze current processing techniques and drive improvements and change management.
Technical skills with a working, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), and MS Project is required. Working knowledge of SAP is desirable.
