Job title: Manufacturing Project Engineer

Location: Rochester, Kent

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting a major site transformation program - developing lean shop floor layouts and maintaining engagement with stakeholders to ensure process efficiency with a safety first mind-set

• Advancing our manufacturing technologies by researching new and emerging technologies, carrying out feasibility studies, cost analyses, and capital expenditure proposals for new equipment

• Working with the Health, Safety & Environment Team to assess the safety and environmental impact of new and existing equipment and processes

• Developing and maintaining shop floor manufacturing lines, cells and equipment to provide a safe and lean manufacturing environment

• Championing a strong lean culture and supporting continuous improvement initiatives including the adoption of Industry 4.0 digital manufacturing

• Managing the estimate, budget and schedule to deliver Manufacturing Engineering projects to time, cost and quality

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

• Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or time served in a similar role (HNC/Degree)

• Knowledge and understanding of modern Manufacturing Engineering practices, tools and technology gained from experience working in a manufacturing environment

• The ability to analyse complex problems, identify critical issues and develop solutions

Desirable

• Demonstrable success in utilising Lean manufacturing tools and techniques (such as process mapping and TAKT time calculations)

• Experience in introducing new technologies / tools into a business from concept through to implementation

• Familiarity of AutoCAD or similar CAD packages for cell layouts

• Implementation of new equipment into new facility or re-layout of existing facility

The Manufacturing Engineering Team:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the manufacture of current and future products across our entire product range and the full programme lifecycle. Working closely with stakeholders across Manufacturing and Engineering you will use your knowledge and experiences to support our manufacturing systems and processes during initial bid, new product introduction, production and repair to ultimately ensure product quality is met within schedule and budget targets.
