Role Summary:

Baker Hughes offers opportunities for qualified people who want to grow in our high performance organization. We are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor to join the BHGE team supporting our Manufacturing Department located at our North Oklahoma City facility.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • This position is key in delivering plant and department goals

  • Over sees production in the Machining and Rotor Lines for the manufacture of Drilling Services components.

  • Directly supervises employees in CNC manufacturing operations and robotic welding operations.

  • Leads, influences, and develops a team of 25+ experienced and inexperienced machinists and welders.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing planning, quality, and maintenance as well as knowledge of machining and welding principals.

  • Experienced in implementing Lean/6S initiatives as well as knowledge of the Six Sigma process.

  • Lead the daily work of employees to ensure compliance with health, safety, environment and quality programs.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, maintain department records to include training plans as required.

  • Cultivates a proactive and diverse manufacturing culture and acts by example.

  • Facility is 24/7 and therefore this role will need to have an open schedule in order to be available to all shifts and respond to callouts as necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • College degree and 3+ years' experience or High School Diploma or equivalent with 5+ years' experience in manufacturing operations. 3+ years' management/ supervisory experience.

  • Familiar with CNC Machining principals and shop environment

  • Experienced with SAP and ERP scheduling

  • Ability to function both tactically and strategically

  • Ability to read and interpret multiple layers of Bills of Material

  • Ability to understand Work Order Routers/Travelers

  • 2 years of experience supervising/instructing people in a manufacturing environment

  • Comfortable around large machines and working with robots

  • Full understanding of processes, procedures, and safety risks associated with a production environment.

  • Demonstrate leadership and personal discipline in performing all assigned tasks to ensure product quality and safe operation for all employees.

  • Knowledge of products and understanding of QC analysis, performing root cause analysis and make recommend adjustments.

Desired Characteristics:

  • College degree with exposure to advanced manufacturing.

  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications preferred.

  • Advanced problem solving capabilities

  • Ability to learn, understand and adhere to documented processes and procedures

  • Interpersonal communication skills, ability to collaborate across functional roles

  • Initiative and has courage in maintaining a strong safety and quality culture

  • Prior experience within a high stress department with constant employee involvement

  • Must be flexible to work within a dynamic environment

  • May have to take phone calls during off hours to assist with the production.
