A Manufacturing Production Scheduler in Morton Grove, IL is currently available through Belcan.

The Production Scheduler will perform scheduling functions to support customer orders requirements and execute site level builds goals, balancing production capacity. Act as a liaison between manufacturing, materials and customer service functions. Investigate root cause and develop/implement process improvements to ensure adherence to agreed production schedule.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Schedules production based on the ERP system using various shop floor systems. Schedules based on MRP orders, configured customer orders and/or Kanban requirements to satisfy the production plan and customer schedules.

Coordinates with factory supervision, highlight gaps in available manpower. Update schedules and manufacturing orders based on customer order changes. Changes include cancellation, expedite, changed specifications or changed dates.

Maintain manufacturing orders with correct dates and status, missed component issues including post deduct errors. Monitor and release customer orders in scheduling software based on material availability communicated by purchasing team. Communicate potential part shortages to purchasing and factory teams. Update on time information in designated reporting tool.


Bachelors Degree in business administration or any other related field with 8+ years experience in a manufacturing facility. Must possess excellent computer skills in MRP and desk top applications which include Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access. Certification in Inventory Management and/or experience in Lean Manufacturing methodology preferred Working knowledge of SAP a plus

Coordinates contingency plans to achieve delivery promises when important deviations occur or properly adjusts due dates in the system and informs Customer Service of the changes. * Coordinates the supply of materials and subcontract operations to meet production schedules. * Analyzes current inventory for excess and obsolete items and maintain proper inventory levels and quality per policies and procedures. * Reviews cell capacities and develops both short and long term capacity plans, establishing and adjusting schedule dates and relative priorities on work orders, adjusting lot sizes when necessary to meet manufacturing requirements and constraints, customer service and inventory requirements. * Determines, recommends and provides for alternatives when demands exceed capacities. * Recommends, implements, and documents new procedures and policies to improve the effectiveness of the operation. * Gains familiarity with the other Planning functions and act as a backup as needed. * Processes paperwork and maintain records as required. * Performs other duties as required. Position Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in Materials Management or related Bachelor's Degree and Internship experience. * 4 years of planning, production and materials management experience. * Must have experience in an MRP II environment. * APICS certification preferred. * Must be PC literate - Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
