Position Summary and Responsibilities

Position develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. May provide work guidance, direction and leadership for several lower graded engineering and technical employees. Assignments at this level are typified by the frequent requirements for innovation and the necessity for devising new design or testing techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods and activities in manufacturing and services

  • Supports production and provides technical knowledge for the successful completion of products in compliance with Engineering drawings and quality standards.

  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

  • Recommends and implements process improvements that will enhance manufacturing, quality and reduce cost of parts and assemblies.

  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

  • Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods.

  • Specify and/or design tooling fixtures, special machinery, and equipment to facilitate the manufacture of parts and assemblies.

  • Perform failure analysis to determine root cause and apply appropriate problem solving methods.

  • Interfaces with design engineering on product designs.

  • Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities but may provide technical leadership to lower level engineers including carrying out lead responsibilities in accordance with applicable regulations and laws and the organization's policies and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to training employees, planning, assigning, directing work and resolving technically related work problems.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and 5-10 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen

  • Knowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP)

Other Qualifications

  • Active Government Security Clearance

  • US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.

  • Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately ___%.

Position Summary and Responsibilities The manufacturing engineer is responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised product. As a part of the operations group the successful candidate will liaise with production personnel, engineering staff and perform sustaining engineering duties within the Operations organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Experience with processing Chip scale packaging, Chip on board, Hybrid assembly and flip chip * Hands on project management of new processes & products * Cost estimating of existing and new products * Continuous improvement of programs * Implementation and ongoing Analysis of SPC data * Ensuring documentation is clear and accurate * Providing inputs to the ERP system, bill-of-materials generation etc. * Develop and write procedures for the operation of new equipment or processes * Revise existing procedures when specifications or processes are updated Qualifications * BS Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering * 5 plus years of experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment * Experience working in a Continuous Improvement / Operational Excellence / Lean Manufacturing operation * Working knowledge of MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-883 test methods and the various J-STD's related to assembly and testing of high reliability semiconductor devices * Basic knowledge of the requirements in MIL-PRF-38534, a plus * Concise planning and organizational skills * Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present to middle management * Manage multiple projects effectively while meeting target dates * Ability to perform in teamwork situations * Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines * Attention to detail with strong organizational skills * Proficient MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.) * US Citizenship Citizenship Requirements Due to classified work at the facility and related access restrictions, successful applicants must maintain U.S. Citizenship to allow the person to hold a U.S. Government security clearance.
