Job Description:
Summary:
The role of the Manufacturing Pathways Coach will be to coordinate promotion and entry into the Future of Work Center advanced manufacturing courses. They will teach students about the job opportunities and career paths within manufacturing in a one-on-one and one-to-many classroom setting. The Coach will provide supportive outreach and communication to promote academic success. This is a part-time position with days/times to be determined based on the training schedule. Applicants must be able to work evening hours and travel between DCC locations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Convey specific knowledge regarding career opportunities and pathways in manufacturing
Provide short-term career advising to exploratory students, or student groups
Create and deliver work-based soft skills training to maximize pre-apprenticeship grant requirements
Facilitate communication between students, tutors, job coaches, accommodative services and other supportive services as necessary.
Administer Work Keys assessments
Communicate, arrange and confirm appropriate accommodations for neurodiverse students
Completes reports and administrative tasks to ensure the effectiveness of the program
Keeps records of student achievements and progress through program enrollment to grant completion
Requirements:
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Demonstrated commitment to student success
Experience supporting individuals with special needs.
Experience as a job coach, vocational counselor, employment specialist or CTE trainer
Familiarity with career opportunities within advanced manufacturing sector
Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff
Proficiency with MS Office, familiarity with Zoom, MS Teams or Google Meet.
Reliable method of transportation to travel to a variety of training sites and human service agencies within Dutchess County
Additional Information:
Salary Range and Classification
$36.83 per hour (10-15 hours per week) and Part-time Non-Teaching Educator
This position is grant funded and expected to end December 31, 2025 with the possibility of renewal.
