Position Overview

Join our team at IMEC as a Manufacturing Outreach Specialist! We're seeking a proactive and dynamic individual to spearhead our efforts in engaging with over 8000 manufacturers across Illinois who are not currently partnered with IMEC. As the primary point of contact for these potential clients, you will play a pivotal role in shaping their first impression and experience with IMEC. Essential Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and Identify Prospective Manufacturers: Utilize various tools and methods to identify and research potential manufacturing companies that align with IMEC's mission and objectives.

  • Lead Generation and Outreach: Initiate contact with identified manufacturers through targeted calls, emails, and other communication channels to introduce IMEC's services and gauge interest in partnership opportunities.

  • Relationship Building: Develop and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within target manufacturing companies to understand their needs and challenges.

  • Representation at Trade Shows/Events: Represent IMEC at industry trade shows, conferences, and events to promote our services and engage with potential clients face-to-face.

  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and activities with prospective clients in IMEC's CRM system, ensuring that relevant details are documented for future reference and follow-up.

  • Collaborative Support: Work closely with the sales team to facilitate the transition of qualified leads into the sales pipeline, providing necessary background information and insights to support ongoing relationship management and sales efforts.

Additional Requirements/Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in sales, lead generation, or business development, preferably within the manufacturing industry.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and build rapport.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Experience with CRM software or similar tools for data management and outreach, or the ability to learn quickly.

  • Willingness to travel and represent IMEC at various events and industry gatherings as needed.

Language Skills:

Must be able to communicate effectively with community organizations, public stakeholders, third-party resources, client personnel and employees at all organizational levels and to develop effective working relationships with staff and a network of technical resources.

Reasoning Ability:

Individual must be a team player with the ability to exercise independent, sound judgment and discretion; be able to plan; be well organized; work well under pressure; take initiative and be flexible and cooperative.

Physical Demands:

Position requires the ability to sit for long periods at a computer terminal. Some walking, standing, and bending are required.

Work Environment:

Normal office environment and standard hours with extended hours and weekend work as required. Applicants for this position must have access to reliable transportation to ensure timely attendance at both internal and external meetings as required by the job responsibilities. The ability to commute to various locations for meetings is essential for effective collaboration and participation in team activities.
