Overview

Part of the manufacturing team, you are the driving force behind the creation of our kitchen and bath products. You will work hands-on with the products themselves, from the handling of raw materials to the shipping of a completed piece. You are responsible for ensuring that all products are properly assembled and manufactured to bring customers a consistently strong experience. Knowledge and attention to all safety protocols is an essential part of keeping our manufacturing operations safe and efficient.

Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Optimization Engineer is responsible for the technical leadership of the Grand Prairie, Tx manufacturing facilities including raw materials optimization, process stability and improvement, and technical guidance resulting in a competitive technological advantage in the industry to meet plant KPI targets including yield/spoilage and labor productivity.

  • Provide technical guidance to meet the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) KPI targets including finishing yield/spoilage and labor productivity.

  • Lead and execute vision including major transformation and Capital Expenditure projects to meet productivity savings according to plant roadmap.

  • Define and execute plant roadmap in order to implement expert systems to provide instant feedback on process performance and lead teams to focus effectively to the problem based on data driven approach.

  • Define and execute R&D materials and processes to reduce waste, improve finishing yield and labor productivity according to AOP goals.

  • Assemble expert focus groups by processes across facilities to facilitate and implement: Lessons learned, PFMEA, SOP, and Read across to assure process stability and improvement.

  • Define and Execute in-house development of Process Experts roadmap per process

  • Coach and support team members both within and outside the Manufacturing Optimization organization to meet productivity targets

  • Partner with corporate Engineering NPD on the introduction of new products, ensuring they are manufacturable and the process meets the quality standards required.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree/2 years of engineering education completed with 2 years of experience optimizing manufacturing processes at the quality, product and process level or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required (new Bachelor's graduates welcome to apply).

  • Bathing product manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Material science and statistics knowledge required.

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) and cross cultural with ability to understand Mexico, US and Canada communication style, working culture and expectations preferred.

  • Ability to understand the impact of several variables at the same time.

  • Ability to work under pressure while delivering day to day, mid and long-term goals.

  • Ability to formulate and execute strategies that will optimize the manufacturing process at the plants.

Hiring Range

The Hiring Salary Range for this position is $55,000- $74,000 annually.

(Salary offer to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
