The Manufacturing Operator III will have a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others, and the desire to learn/develop technical skills to keep current with changing operations. He/She must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills. Manufacturing Operator III is a self-starter who demonstrates leadership skills - inspires others and leads through influence. He/She will identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within an empowered team environment.

As a Manufacturing Operator III, you will:

  • Responsible for operating lathe machinery

  • Responsible for using a computer for data entry, MTL, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Logbook, training, non-conforming product, audits, etc

  • Operate required testing equipment for product quality

  • Monitor product quality according to procedure

  • Responsible for ensuring, promoting, and working in a clean environment with varying degrees of temperatures, humidity and Quality Protective Equipment

  • Responsible for performing a full range of physical duties to include: climbing stairs, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling and performing overhead work

  • Able to work in a smoke-free and drug-free work environment

  • Able to work near moving or mechanical parts, near fumes or airborne particles, and near loud noises

  • Able to work at table level and/or overhead level as necessary

  • Stand for extended periods of time while working at machines

  • Follow all DuPont safety, quality, job, and site policies

  • Follow and update operating procedures

  • Some work requires manual dexterity & repetitive movements of the upper extremities

  • Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills

  • Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence

  • A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks

  • Able to perform task wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: respirators, protective clothing, face masks, goggles, boots, etc.

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders and stairs, wearing safety gear, working in confined areas, and working in a chemical-manufacturing environment

  • A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is required; Associate degree or higher is preferred

  • A minimum of 3-5 years' work experience with machinery/ machine operations is required

  • Previous work experience operating lathe equipment within GMP environment is strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly is required

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English is required

  • A valid U.S. state driver's license is required

  • Previous fork-lift experience is preferred

  • Mechanical aptitude; experience troubleshooting equipment and machines is preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills

  • Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include; wearing safety equipment, such as earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, hardhats, hairnets, and steel-toed shoes are required

  • While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to stand; walk (up and down stairs); twist; bend; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb for extended periods of time; and will require the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is required

  • Ability to work 12- hour night shift, rotating schedule; including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed on a regular basis is required

  • This role is located in Newark, DE and may require less than 5% of travel

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States; No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position
