We are looking for an entry level Manufacturing Operator to help run our Dryer.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

This is an entry level position is for our Dryer department. Our dryer equipment converts liquid product into dried powder forms, primarily infant formula. Quality is maintained via equipment that monitors drying parameters as well as employees visually inspecting the equipment to ensure efficient operations. The operators will also be responsible for the cleaning of the equipment via our CIP (Clean in Place) system.

This entry level position allows new operators to become familiar with plant procedures and policies, which enable them to learn the basics of their assigned dryer. The operator will learn the operation of the Dryer and CIP (clean in place) Systems and will assist the dryer technicians and specialists with more complex systems. This will facilitate their development towards positions of increasing responsibility. Operators will gain operational knowledge and applicable tasks of evaporating batches, product sterilization, drying product, weighing and adding vitamins, add up corrections, troubleshooting and CIP of equipment. Will need to learn and follow all GMP and safety guidelines, to stay in compliance with OSHA and FDA regulations.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Fluid bed operation

  • Weighing/adding minerals and vitamins

  • Forklift operations

  • Assisting dryer technicians w/production and CIP

  • Housekeeping tasks/sanitation procedures

  • Assembly/disassembly of various powder transport systems

  • Evaporator system operation and CIP (clean in place)

  • Injector system operation and CIP

  • Dryer system operation and CIP

  • Fines reinjection system and CIP

  • Powder handling systems (transporters to hopper)

  • Giving direction and assistance to operators

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Preferred:

At least 6 months to 1 year of manufacturing experience

WHAT YOU'LL DO * Become familiar with the execution of calibration procedures for all the instruments in the plant calibration program * Consistently complete calibration records accurately and neatly * Complete the preventative maintenance of instruments in a timely and thorough manner, and learn to draft calibration and preventative maintenance procedures for new and existing instruments * Use of hand tools, electrical diagnostic equipment and various calibration standards to complete instrument technician maintenance jobs * Work well with little supervision * Follow all plant and department procedures, GMPs, JSAs and general plant safety rules * Keep all work areas clean and neat (housekeeping of the shop is primarily the responsibility of the instrument technicians working in the area) * Lead other employees (including directing other instrument technicians or maintenance personnel, providing OJT for people new to the department and recording and communicating shift activity in an organized manner * Be certified for lockout/tag out and confined space entry procedures * Provide support to primary plant operations; total plant equipment coverage includes (but is not limited to): packaging lines, processing, drying, filling, warehouse, energy center, laboratory, HVAC systems, and land application * Responding to equipment emergencies * Troubleshooting of systems with thousands of input/outputs and multiple sensing devices * Communicating routinely with line personnel and supervision to maintain knowledge of the latest production schedule * Communicating potential equipment problems to production and maintenance supervisors to allow scheduling of repairs * Looking for and implementing equipment and system improvements using correct wire-puling technique, reading electrical schematics, wiring directly from wiring diagrams, wiring PLC inputs and outputs and finding analog control values in the PLC logic programming You'll also be accountable for providing excellent customer service to the production teams and meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
