Job Description:

This position is in the semiconductor Reliability Lab in Santa Rosa, California. We manufacture integrated circuit packages in support of our internal and external customers. You will be part of a team that process IC packages through stress testing and record keeping; and will work closely with engineering, maintenance, trainers, and other operators.

Though you will be part of a team, you will be working independently to actively achieve the output and quality goals set for the area. The scope and complexity of your work will be based on your existing knowledge and capabilities as well as how fast you can acquire new skills. In the reliability lab, manufacturing technicians are challenged with product/process support, test engineering support, computer programming, tracking and monitoring calibrated equipment, RFOL DUT testing, and troubleshooting/repair of reliability lab technical equipment. In addition, the reliability lab technician is responsible for accurately capturing the data used by the engineering team to enable them to make decisions about the long-term quality of parts.

Job Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Understanding and working knowledge of electrical components

  • The ability to work in an ESD environment

  • The ability to work in a multi-disciplined, cross-departmental environment

  • Ability to follow a set schedule of tasks for multiple products (multi-task)

  • Ability to navigate specialized computer programs for testing

  • Ability to do work under a microscope

  • Ability to troubleshoot/repair PC boards and/or other equipment

  • Ability to implement and assist in new process developments

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Qualities

  • Desire to maintain high quality production

  • Ability to handle delicate products

  • Ability to collaborate and work with a team

  • Knowledge of R&D processes

  • Experience creating and updating process documents

  • Lean and 5S experience a plus

  • C++ programming knowledge or other programming languages

  • Calibration and EMERALD knowledge

This position is at our Santa Rosa, California site, located in the wine country, about one hour north of San Francisco. Santa Rosa is a medium-size city, approximately 150,000 people, with mild climate and many recreational opportunities. Keysight in Santa Rosa is a product development site and has many technically challenging jobs. We design and build test instruments for RF/microwave communications. These instruments are performance and market leading products, extensively used by leading electronic and communications companies worldwide. Responsibilities include performing a variety of technical support duties across Integrated Circuit and Thin Film manufacturing equipment. Duties may be related to installation, maintenance, repair and support of equipment, technical support for production equipment, and problem-solving. * Machinery & Equipment: Supports multi-discipline semiconductor manufacturing processes with respect to routine repairs, preventative maintenance, installation and/or enhancement of a select group of machinery and equipment or interrelated systems. * Test & Repair: Tests and calibrates and/or repairs and monitors and/or installs and diagnoses equipment. Works from guidelines and standardized procedures/instructions. * Manages and Resolves complex equipment recovery efforts, requiring depth of knowledge of technical disciplines. * Work with suppliers to select and procure an adequate supply of spares. * Develop written maintenance procedures for support equipment. * Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and proactively plan events to minimize impact to R&D and Production. * Work closely with our Equipment Engineering team to: * Assist in the retirement of legacy tools * Install new process tools * Develop PM and repair procedures and determine spare parts requirements * Assist with implementing hardware improvements and automation projects. Job Qualifications * 5+ years equipment maintenance experience in semiconductor manufacturing or related field. * AS/BA/BS degree in Electronics, military electronics training or strong electro-mechanical technical capability. * Experience with maintaining semiconductor manufacturing tools is highly desired. * Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of tools and standard engineering practices. * Strong personal and e-mail communication skills. * Demonstrated superior project management skills. * Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Desire to work in a highly technical organization with a very strong and inclusive team.
