ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that control is maintained through the use of all documentation and operational method sheets.

  • Problem solves with engineering and planning to solve roadblocks to execution issues.

  • Perform mold changes, job set-ups and machine start-ups to produce quality product at standard.

  • Set machine parameters against specification sheets

  • Create specifications for molding processes

  • Troubleshoot machines and molds when needed

  • Evaluate part quality regularly and make adjustments according to part specifications/drawings

  • Evaluate and document machine conditions & write repair orders when needed

  • Set-up all auxiliary equipment to specifications and ensure proper operation

  • Ensure all material is mixed and distributed within specifications and handled within specifications, gaylords, liners, covers, weights, and colors

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS Diploma/GED required

  • 3-5 years experience in a lead role in a molding environment.

  • Supervision / management training

  • Plastic processing skills

  • High degree of problem solving/troubleshooting skills

I&rsquo;m Eric Levy. </em></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>A precision manufacturing operation, part of a large company, needs a junior mechanical engineer to work on design and manufacturing of fabricated and machined assemblies for small, specialized motors and pump components. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This is a &ldquo;generalist&rdquo; position; the person will work throughout the organization, including finite element design and thermodynamic analysis all the way to optimization of CNC/machining and testing finished parts. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Ideal candidate has zero years of post-university experience; applicable internships are viewed favorably.<br /></p><p><strong>Specifics:</strong></p><ol><li>Work under other senior engineers, operation and so forth &ndash; view the position as a route to development as well as immediate contribution</li><li>Design: use Solidworks to design parts, sub-assemblies, etc, as needed for products</li><li>Analysis of proposed designed: thermal stresses, mechanical stress, Finite Element Analysis, etc. Prefer experience with ANSYS. </li><li>Work with sister personnel in operations, engineering, procurement and supply chain to help ensure internally manufactured parts and externally procured parts/materials are as needed</li><li>Extensive work with technicians testing and evaluating physical performance of new and/or improved parts, assemblies, etc. </li><li>Understanding of the manufacturing process well so as to be part of designs and improvement on existing designs for manufacturing equipment and processes </li><li>Some methods/areas: welding, machining, fabrication, coating, assembly, testing of &ldquo;things&rdquo; (thermal, materials/NDT, etc) and performance.</li></ol><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Required/preferred:</strong></p><ol><li>Four-year degree in mechanical engineering </li><li>Entry level &ndash; so zero years of post-university experience </li><li>Extra consideration will be given for Internship and cooperative experience</li><li>Working knowledge of SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB, etc.; other modeling and design software is good.</li><li>Broad educational experience &ndash; class and labs &ndash; in mechanics, thermodynamics, FEA, </li><li>Willing and ablke to work at design and then within an operating plant seamlessly. </li><li>Able to work in the U.S. now and in the future without needing a visa sponsorship.</li></ol><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Salary: $60,000 - $72,000, relocation assistance available. </p> Catalyst Recruiting Inc.
