We are looking for the candidate who has strong leadership skills who can help guide and coach our Night Shift team!

JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Manufacturing Manager is responsible for providing managerial leadership and direction to the Plant/Module, maximizing capital and human resource utilization in attaining production objectives of acceptable quality within established cost parameters. The position is also accountable for management direction of the people, materials, maintenance and assets of the Plant/Module for the purpose of producing assigned products according to the production plan and customer requirements. The Manufacturing Manager drives change management initiatives throughout the Plant/Module and implements effective continuous improvement in support of plant operations and customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. Work with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment. Complies with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures and housekeeping standards.

  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding company performance metrics for driving improvement and making well informed decisions for manufacturing activities, resource allocation and strategic planning.

  • Responsible for all aspects of environmental health and safety compliance.

  • Solid understanding of production outputs, budget spending, productivity, material efficiency, engineering effectiveness and effective personnel utilization and turnover. Become knowledgeable in all plant-manufacturing processes.

  • Successful experience with managing and developing talent and building a strong team to improve organizational capability.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills to interact with employees, vendors, and customers.

  • Drive quality in to all we do to ensure customer satisfaction and prevent repeat issues.

  • Proven project management, time management and leadership skills as well as problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Assign projects to the Engineering group.

  • Create a productive and cohesive team environment.

  • Responsible for meeting on time delivery and productivity goals.

  • Perform those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the manufacturing and maintenance operations, including provision for the selection, development, counseling and motivation of all employees in the Module to meet organization goals and objectives. Provide regular feedback to employees regarding their performance.

  • Develop and manage the capital expenditure and operating expenditure plan.

  • Participate in planning meetings with engineering to ensure successful launch of new products.

  • Drive and lead the Continuous Improvement, Lean and 6 Sigma Programs. Ensure the Daily Direction Setting boards are up to date. Be responsible for adhering to the company's goal of supporting and driving positive results through the continuous improvement efforts.

  • Participate in developing and executing strategic initiatives within manufacturing and maintenance.

  • Ensure the objectives of the company are being met directly through the supervision of the plant's management staff. Develop and motivate Production Supervisors for the next job responsibility.

  • Define and recommend goals and objectives in each area of the operation and maintenance.

  • Develop specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget and manpower requirements.

  • Develop and implement cost control measures, cost estimates, manpower and equipment forecast and annual facility operating budgets.

  • Identify, develop, and challenge top talent to ensure long-term success of the organization

  • Reviewing performance metrics, reports and develop action plans to ensure performance targets are met through continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Sales to understand their needs and objectives.

  • Evaluates employee performance, sets expectations and goals for Plant/Module and individuals.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related from a four-year college or university plus years manufacturing operations management experience and/or at least five years of direct plant management experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Must be able to effectively communicate with other department heads, peers, and employees to share information timely, solves problems, and coach/develop employees. Must have the ability to read and interpret complex documents such as blueprints, shop orders, work plans, and short correspondence. Must be able to write standard reports and documentation.
