Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Manufacturing Lead for our Tulsa, Oklahoma location

In our organization, the Manufacturing Lead has a critical and challenging role in helping achieve innovation and meeting our commitments.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Prepares and operates molding press to process/produce a high quality product. Ensures production continuity of press lines. Troubleshoots equipment and processes as need arises. Assists operators with documentation and processes. Ensures molding records reflectaccuracy of the day's production. Fills in for Molding Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sets up press-checking tonnage, cure time, temperature, speed control etc.

  • Retrieves preforms/extrusions/inserts for job as needed.

  • Makes sure paperwork is filled out correctly.

  • Approves time in Mercury (Kronos).

  • Has an understanding of the molding processes at all skill levels.

  • Understands how to operate press according to job specifications.

  • Insures MIP's are being followed.

  • Inspects parts for flaws.

  • Helps troubleshoot molding of rejected parts.

  • Records time and work on labor ticket each day.

  • Checks production records for job completion and upcoming assignments.

  • Communicates with support departments as necessitated by production needs.

  • Assigns presses as necessary.

  • Assists employees as needed.

  • Communicates all production/press related information to next shift lead or shift Supervisor.

  • Understands LEAN concepts, such as: TAKT, time, capacity measures, etc.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fills in for supervisor when needed

  • Assists with mold installation as needed

  • Assists with material handling between departments as needed

  • Facilitates the training of press operators at all levels

  • Moves molding materials from the staging area to the pressline

  • Able to relieve and fill-in during lunch breaks and operate press

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of one year related experience

  • General experience in a production environment filling a supervisory role

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Problem solving/decision making skills

  • Ability to prioritize

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Conversion of weights and measures

  • Comprehension of written and verbal communication skills

  • Problem solving skills

  • Basic mathematical skills (addition/subtraction, multiplication/division)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged standing/walking

  • Repetitive motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder or neck movement

  • Keyboard work

  • Occasional forceful hand grasp

  • Ability to read

  • Occasional bending/twisting/crouching and squatting

  • Use of vibrating tools

  • Able to hear and speak clearly

  • Lifting, pulling and carrying up to/in excess of 50 pounds

  • Reaching from shoulder level or below/over shoulder level

  • Frequent climbing of ladders/scaffolds/step stools and stairs

  • Ability to see to distinguish colors, prepare/analyze figures, prepare/review documents and to visually inspect items

  • Use of machinery and machinery that produces excessive heat

  • Ability to endure a hot work environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Exposure to extreme heat for more than an hour

  • Bright environment or lighting

Function The purpose of this role is to provide operation floor level leadership to our internal materials group within our manufacturing plant to successfully deliver parts lineside. This includes managing hourly material handling associates in our daily mission to achieve great safety, quality, delivery and cost in all areas of our operation. The internal material team is accountable for ensuring material is received, put-away, picked and delivered line side to the assembly line in line with our lean principles. They are also responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy throughout those processes and the outbound picking, packaging and shipping of service parts to our consumers and service part operation. As the supervisor of the internal materials team this person is accountable for leading all material flow activities on the operations floor including the coordination of activities with various process partners including transportation management, and assembly and support operations. In order to be successful in this role the supervisor must provide effective daily shift communication both within materials but also across the plant. The supervisor is also accountable to help drive continuous improvement through the executing of lean events and activities. They must also "champion" lean through daily coaching in lean tools and methodologies and the ongoing development of standardized work. Job Responsibilities * Operations/People management - coaching and developing Material Team Leaders and other hourly associates through a daily presence on the floor. * Ensuring successful safety, quality, delivery, cost in all processes. * Putting lean into practice - using lean tools to drive continuous improvement projects related to improving material management and material flow Basic Requirements * Bachelor's Degree * 1+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or supply chain operations environment Preferred Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Engineering * Supply Chain Management experience * Knowledge on Industry Standards * Proficient in Google Suite as asset, MS Office, Access, Project, ERP systems (SAP an asset), labor management software (Kronos as asset) * Ability to employ lean concepts to drive continuous improvement in their area. * Proven ability to proactively coach and mentor a team to drive outstanding results. * Outstanding communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills. * Demonstrated success in a "teaming" environment.
