The Manufacturing Instructor will coordinate activities to ensure that direct staff meet the necessary competencies to perform their activities through certification processes, skills matrix and annual training plans. This position will support all of Sensata's manufacturing training needs and will report directly to the site Manufacturing Manager in Carpinteria, CA

  • Responsibilities:

  • Define orientation training and program logistics for all production team direct labor employees and contractors.

  • Develop certification/cross training plan with manufacturing

  • Update certification matrix

  • Coordinate recertification program

  • Review certification process periodically to assure compliance with customer requirements

  • Update training indices and implement actions (cross training, compliance with training annual plan, % of people certified in their operation)

  • Coordinate logistics, define trainers, evaluate before/after training

  • Develop tutors and trainers skills

  • Provide support during internal/customer audits and help to implement corrective actions

  • Use new tools to update training material. Partner with broader Sensata team to stay up to date on relevant processes/technology and software related to trainings


  • High School Diploma required. Associates Degree preferred

  • 3+ years' experience Manufacturing/Operations experience

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and interact effectively with all organizational levels

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Must possesses the ability to engage participants and maintain an appropriate professional learning environment

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
