Production Operator

This is a rare opportunity to have a vital role in the initial stages of a greenfield advanced manufacturing facility and helping to define the future of American manufacturing. Ideal candidates will be hands-on with experience in a 24/7 industrial operation. The new facility will contain a broad range of chemical, mechanical, and thermal processes. The metal and alloy casting department consists of equipment such as molten metal electrolysis, vacuum casting, and associated material handling equipment. Following start of production, the Production Operator will be assigned to a specific shift working 4 days on, 3 days off, 3 days on, 4 days off. Prior to the start of production, the Production Operator is expected to participate in piloting activities to gain familiarity with the process, with some variation in shift details expected during this period. Piloting activities for some processes may occur off-site, and in these cases extended travel may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIESINCLUDE:

  • Perform daily area and equipment inspections.

  • Prepare materials and setup equipment per recipes and work instructions.

  • Safely operate mobile and material handling equipment.

  • Monitor and operate molten metal processing and vacuum casting equipment.

  • Control and adjust equipment and process parameters as needed to ensure consistent quality and productivity.

  • Document, collect, and report production data.

  • Consistently maintain a clean and organized workplace.

  • Perform duties in a safe manner following all mandatory requirements, regulations, and policies.

  • Wear and maintain company issued personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Actively participate in Kaizen and other continuous improvement activities.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in foundry, hot metal working, or other hot or molten metal processing.

  • High school or equivalent diploma.

  • Detail oriented and meticulous about housekeeping.

  • Basic computer skills: data entry into ERP system, Excel, etc.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.

Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician

The Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician will ensure process and product quality standards are being achieved through chemical and physical analytical techniques. This is a rare opportunity to have an early role in implementing manufacturing test methods for a greenfield advanced manufacturing facility that is helping to define the future of American manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technician with experience in a complex 24/7 industrial operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Operate laboratory analytical equipment including some combination of ICP, LECO, XRF, XRD, SEM, optical microscopes, dimensional analysis and magnetometry.

  • Review and record analytical results in LIMS/database.

  • Support testing method development, assessment, validation, and roll-out under guidance of the Technology team.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.

  • Assist in tracking and maintaining the chemical inventory.

  • Perform lab housekeeping and routine inspections.

  • Perform routine statistical analysis (SQC) on quality data.

  • Participate in Gage R&R and other measurement system assessments.

  • Actively participate in Kaizen events, safety programs, and adhere to all appropriate laboratory safety and operations procedures.

  • Maintain safe work practices.

  • Participates in Process Hazard Analysis procedures and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Aptitude and experience with chemical testing techniques and instrumentation.

  • Experience with chemical test methods and material characterization of rare earth materials.

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or other relevant science or engineering field.

  • Familiarity with computers, data entry, and analysis.

  • Experience in IATF 16949 compliant manufacturing environments.
