1st Shift schedule: 06:00 am

  • 2:30 pm Monday

  • Friday

2nd Shift schedule: 03:00 pm

  • 11:30 pm Monday-Friday
  • Both shifts work occasional overtime and some Saturday work.

Impact Housing is quickly becoming the most active developer of housing in Southern California, by deploying our mission-driven, vertically integrated housing production and activation model. We are scaling our company to build and activate high volumes of unsubsidized new housing that is affordable to moderate- and low-income households, and in so doing, help solve Southern California's housing crisis. The company currently has several San Diego projects under construction and in the development process and is on track to build 10,000 apartment units in San Diego this decade.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Under the general direction of the CMO, Quality Manager, and Production Manager the Team Lead plays a vital role in our manufacturing operation. The Team Lead manages a small group of 4-8 people, promoting a safe and effective workstation. The Team Lead will be certified in lean principles and a proven effective problem solver.

Team Leader

This is the full journey level in the series. This position differs from the lower level by the level of complexity, sensitivity, independence, and diversity of assignments. The team Lead will have full responsibility for a variety of different tradesmen working in a station. Employees must also demonstrate the knowledge and the ability to deal independently with complex and sensitive issues; they lead an area of operational function; lead or manage small to mid-sized projects; they work independently with minimal supervision and receive only occasional instructions or assistance as new or unusual situations arise. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain MES, and ensure the station is operating within standard cycle time.

  • Provide coverage when absences occur.

  • Training team members and developing skill set needed to continually improve the operation.

  • Follow lean manufacturing guidelines.

  • Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement projects.

  • Manage nonconformances within the station.

  • Detect and eliminate waste.

  • Develop a campaign to identify all potential sources of project delays and establish a programmatic agreement or solution, utilizing existing and new relationships within the public sector.

  • Track and influence relevant local policy development, media coverage, and political dynamics that relate to the company's work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • 5s station management

  • Tool control

  • Part kitting and inventory control

  • Operation risk assessment

  • Error proofing and standard work verification.

  • Attend Andon Calls

  • Encourage and support the team to not receive, build or ship non-conforming products.

  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • General Construction
  • 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • First Aid/CPR Certification

  • Forklift Operator Certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

  • Competitive hourly range of $25-35 depending on skills and experience.
