General Purpose:Operate the Separator process in an efficient manner in order to maximize production while maintaining product quality and employee safety.Job Duties and Responsibilities:* Operate the separator system according to defined processing parameters to achieve optimum processing efficiencies and to ensure the highest quality product while minimizing downtime; this includes the Skim HTST, Separator, Cream HTST, and RO* Monitor and document processes as required and perform quality control checks, making changes to the processes as necessary to maintain quality * Ensure all process documentation is complete and entered into SAP as required * Perform CIP as needed on all related equipment and perform manual cleaning as necessary * Assist with raw milk load-outs * Perform CIP of product tanks, processing lines, and load-out lines; perform manual cleaning as necessary * Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times * Perform general housekeeping duties and Master Sanitation Schedule tasks as necessary * Perform limited maintenance as required * Minimize water usage and the generation of wastewater within the scope of the position * Assist in the training and development of new operators * Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly at designated intervals and entered into SAP as required * Ensure all recording charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory regulations * Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area throughout the facility and common areas * Anticipate problems, implement solutions, and look for continuous improvement/process improvement opportunities * Safeguard and protect all company assets and proprietary information * Assume responsibility for the attainment of plant goals and objectives. Make decisions in a timely manner * Maintain cooperative working relationships and communications with employees from all other departments and peers * Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment * Attend required training, including but not limited to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)* Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive * Follow all Dairy Farmers of America procedures and practices: Safety, Quality, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP)* Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements * Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity * The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Education and Experience * High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)* 1 year of manufacturing experience * Certification and/or License * Forklift certification * May be required to obtain and maintain other certifications and/or licenses for continued employmentKnowledge, Skills and Abilities * Able to perform basic quality testing as necessary, including but not limited to total solids %, butterfat %* Able to understand the Cream HTST system to effectively troubleshoot issues as they arise * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems, specifically SAP* Skill in proficient computer usage*

Other operational duties include clean-in-place (CIP) and clean--out-of-place (COP) gaskets and master sanitation. Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Sample all incoming raw milk tankers for the purpose of performing quality testing as necessary * Review and maintain records pertaining to "General Laboratory" requirements for an Appendix N Drug Residue screening site as required by the dairy industry * Understand, follow, and complete all Charm SL3, Sulfa & Tetra procedures and documentation set forth by the FDA Pasteurized Milk Ordinance, meeting Michigan Department of Agriculture regulatory agency supervision * Scale tankers in/out; complete documentation as required * Load/unload raw milk tankers; complete documentation as required * Receive fluid products, check storage silos, observe product flow into and out of storage silos, and respond to any problems * Complete and maintain Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) record keeping such as completing charts and sanitation sheets * CIP all bulk tankers; perform manual cleaning as necessary. Complete all related documentation including wash tag PMO requirements * CIP raw milk silos and receiving line circuits as required; perform manual cleaning as necessary. Complete all related documentation including CIP charts PMO requirements * Check, fill and monitor CIP day-tanks and CIP systems as necessary * Communicate with separator operators as required * Perform general housekeeping duties and Master Sanitation Schedule tasks as necessary * Minimize water usage and the generation of wastewater within the scope of the position * Understand fully product flow from the milk silos to packaging department * Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly at designated intervals * Ensure all recording charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory regulations * Maintain safe, clean, and organized work area throughout the facility and common areas * Anticipate problems, implement solutions, and look for continuous improvement/process improvement opportunities * Safeguard and protect all company assets and proprietary information * Assume responsibility for the attainment of plant goals and objectives.
