The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting opportunity as a Manufacturing Execution System Specialist in Auburn, MI. This job includes working with Operators, Run Plant Engineers, and Quality to provide day to day support to CSS operations for the manufacture of Silicon Carbide wafers and Epi wafers. This support includes the configuration and maintenance of the Manufacturing Process Flow and Engineering Data Collection in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).

Support will also include the integration of MES with SAP/ECC where MES is sending process order transactional data to SAP and receiving raw material inventory from SAP. There will be instances where communication with the software vendor will be required for break/fix support and maintenance such as software patches and development of new functionalities.


  • Primary contact for identifying problems, troubleshooting, and providing reliable solutions for the MES system.

  • Integration of MES with SAP/ECC where MES is sending process order transactional data to SAP and receiving raw material inventory from SAP.

  • Communication with the software vendor will be required for break/fix support and maintenance such as software patches and development of new functionalities.

  • Collaborate with production to recommend, develop, and implement system improvements.

  • Evaluate software change impacts and execute validation activities.

  • Develop reporting capabilities within MES system to supplement operational and financial metrics

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Operations along with direct SAP and/or MES Systems experience. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills are required.

  • Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.

  • A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred qualifications:

  • General understanding of coding languages as well as program logic and structure.

  • Server and network skills

  • Knowledge of the MES software from Applied Materials consisting of FAB300 (MES), Smart Factory (Operator Interface), E3 (Process Automation tool integration), and Space (SPC).


  • Associate's degree in an IT related field and/or 4 years relevant military experience is required.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The self-driving car will change the way we interface with our vehicles. Dura designs and manufactures driver control systems. We are developing new driver control systems such as drivetrain actuators, steering systems and convenience devices. These systems need ways for drivers to take control away from the automation systems when needed. Dura is seeking a controls engineer to join the innovation team developing by-wire mechatronic systems for autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles. The Controls Engineer will primarily be involved in algorithm development for the Shift-By-Wire actuator system that includes design, implementation, and verification. We are looking for a controls focused individual skilled in mechatronic modeling and controls. The successful candidate will have experience with Matlab, Simulink, embedded systems and embedded controls. The candidate will develop dynamic system models of the actuator, calibrate performances, and generate and troubleshoot new algorithms to improve performances. This position will interact and accommodate both internal and external customers' requirements. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 5-10 years of experience in control cystems involving Brushless and Brushed DC motors. Experience in physical modeling of PMDC, Brushless, Stepper and Brushed DC motors is required. Strong knowledge in motor control techniques, such as field-oriented control. Strong programming and simulation skills (with Matlab/Simulink) and experiences performing design and analysis of motor control systems, sensing subsystems, and power electronics. In-depth understanding in theory of AC induction/Brushless Permanent Magnet /Brushed DC motors, their control and integration need for complex electromechanical ("mechatronic") systems. Knowledgeable in analyzing, modeling and designing motor control system for electric drive systems. Expertise in motor calibration, dynamometer testing, parameter measurement and system integration. Knowledge in developing and validating mathematical models to simulate our motors, sensors and power electronics. Establishing best practices for brushless DC (SPM and/or IPM) / brush DC and/or induction motor related analysis, controls, and testing.
