We are looking for:

  • A Manufacturing Excellence Mechanical Engineer who is focused on the continual improvement of the manufacturing process and maintenance & reliability management and execution at Green River-Wyoming.

  • The role is to maximize the safety, quality, and performance of the asset base and production process by supporting process improvements with the maintenance and production teams. The focus will be primarily around process improvement, but this role will be expected to work on a variety of cross-functional initiatives and more technical improvement projects. This position will not have any direct reports.

We count on you for:

  • Works cross-functionally between maintenance and production to identify bottlenecks, shortcomings and opportunities to improve the efficiency and efficacy of maintenance work management and execution

  • Implement Solvay's continuing manufacturing excellence initiatives on site

  • Support and facilitate asset reliability improvement initiatives (failure mode and effects analysis, root cause analysis, precision maintenance, preventive maintenance optimization (PMO), condition based monitoring programs etc.)

  • Increase work order management (WOM) system efficiency through data analysis, developing plans, delivering training and coaching to process participants, etc.

  • Improve maintenance and operations communication and cooperation and hence maintenance wrench time

  • Engage with operations team around concepts such as autonomous maintenance, operator excellence, equipment knowledge and care and defect detection and reporting

  • Track production and maintenance performance through audits, assessments, KPIs/metrics

  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement methods to improve maintenance shutdown process, track shutdown performance

You will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial maintenance

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field like Industrial Engineering Major.

  • Advanced SAP or equivalent software experience required

  • Safety-mindedness; the ability and willingness to work safely in diverse and hazardous environments

  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement/operational excellence methodologies (i.e. six sigma)

  • A thorough understanding of production and maintenance performance metrics/KPIs

  • Understanding of key production processes and best practices for maintenance/operations interaction

  • Effective written and verbal communication- the drafting and upkeep of maintenance & reliability policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance gatekeeping, planning and scheduling best practices

  • Excellent meeting facilitator and note-taker

  • Strong analytical skills, the ability to glean insight from SAP, historical work order and other table-based data

  • Self-motivated and unafraid to take initiative and work effectively with little supervision; an assertive character; unafraid to demand results and hold stakeholders accountable

  • The ability to prioritize and advance multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • Project Management Professional, Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma certifications preferred

  • Experience in performance management, change management and/or project/program management is preferred

You will get:

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $102,000 - $120,000, depending on qualifications. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
