About Us:

Daman Products, LLC is a manifold manufacturing organization located in Mishawaka, Indiana acquired by Helios Technologies in September 2022. We have successfully integrated 3 brands in the facility, expanded the facility by 60,000 square feet, added (14) 5-axis CNC milling machines, added a hydraulics integrated package assembly line, and quick release/couplers assembly lines for hydraulic disconnects. We have effectively become the Helios Hydraulic Manifold Solutions Center of Excellence where all manifold production flows through this facility.

Nature and Scope:

As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Daman Products, LLC located in Mishawaka, Indiana you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This internship program is designed to provide hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of manufacturing engineering. You will play a key role in supporting our manufacturing operations, driving process improvements, optimization, and contributing to the overall improvement of our production processes. The internship offers the opportunity to utilize your degree course work to support development, optimization, and improvement of our manufacturing processes for improved cycle time, material flow, layout, and overall efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and standards to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.

  • Support the design and optimization of manufacturing layouts, equipment, and systems to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and maintenance to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.

  • Conduct time and motion studies, process flow analysis, and root cause investigations to identify opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction.

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at streamlining operations, reducing cycle times, and increasing throughput.

  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, equipment, and automation systems to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

  • Support the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials for manufacturing personnel.

  • Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure the effectiveness of process improvements.

  • Actively participate in team meetings, workshops, and training sessions to expand your knowledge and skills in manufacturing engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong academic background with coursework in manufacturing processes, automation, quality control, or related disciplines.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute fresh ideas to improve manufacturing processes.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, feel/reach with hands/arms, and talk to hear.

The employee frequently is required to sit and walk. The employee is occasionally required to bend and stop, push, and pull, reach above shoulder level, kneel, squat, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
