Job Functions / Responsibilities

This position will assist in the Study, Analysis, Development and Documentation of Plant Assembly processes. The job also includes assistance in Continuous Improvement Efforts focusing on; Departmental Quality Improvement Projects, Ergonomic Improvement Projects, Line Balance Optimization and Improvements in Overall Departmental Efficiency. It is a temporary position.

  • Study, and analyze plant assembly processes

  • Development and document plant assembly processes

  • Flexibility to address special projects as they arise

  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts focusing on:

o Departmental improvement quality projects

o Line Balance optimization

o Ergonomic Improvement projects

o Overall departmental efficiency improvements

Qualifications and Skills

The candidate we seek will be currently enrolled in an Engineering Program and have completed their Sophomore year of College.

Excellent technical, verbal, written and presentations skills. Proven problem solving skills are required. Ability to work in a self-directed environment is preferred.

  • Must be flexible to work portions of day and evening shift.

  • Must be able to work to work 40 hours per week.

  • Be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.

  • MS office, specifically excel spreadsheets

  • A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferable.

Bachelor's Degree In Progress

Join our best-in-class team today through the following opportunity: Job Functions / Responsibilities * Review New Product Designs for Manufacturability * Provide Production Impact and Cost Analysis for New Product Designs * Develop and refine processes for new product launch * Create or update SOPs, PFMEAs, and Layouts for new product * Maintain and report status of schedule for projects * Specify and procure necessary tools and equipment to support new products * Actively participate in simultaneous engineering for new product development projects * Plan, define and implement the related equipment changes within the given time frame of the project * Coordinate with equipment suppliers for modifications to be outsourced * Define equipment modifications with flexibility for future design and volume expansion * Use best practices from the Manufacturing Engineering group * Update control documents per ISO requirements for new product * Designs and implements shop aids and fixtures Qualifications & Skills Required * B.S. Degree in Engineering (Prefer Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing) * Proven problem-solving skills * Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills * Proven ability to work self-directed in a project team environment * Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and influence others * Ability to work within deadlines to achieve goals * Proven abilities in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on excel and power point * 3-5 years minimum manufacturing experience (exhibited process and product knowledge) Desired * Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies * Experience in a simultaneous engineering style project environment * Experience with CAD and/or CREO Paremetric Additional PACCAR Website Information PACCAR is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veteran/Disability.
