Core Responsibilites

  • Participate in design reviews and design to ensure the manufacturability of systems

  • Identify and coordinate with the engineering prototypes necessary to achieve an efficient and stable assembly

  • Install files including design calculations, testing, prototyping, etc.

  • Identify and approve manufacturing deliverables (eg AVT, scales, templates, validation points, etc.) within the timeframes required;

  • Participate in optimization and cost reduction projects

  • Perform project management that are focal points

  • Support and meet suppliers, after-sales service (VAS), the production, the group of bids and sales

  • Support the analysis of customer requests and special requests

  • Contribute to standardize the concepts taking into account the state of the art and standards

  • Perform the start of production of deliverables manufacturing engineering

  • Support the group of industrial engineering in its tasks (EN Analysis, design workstations, swing)

  • Support manufacturing engineering in optimizing operations

  • Manage and document projects as assigned and in accordance with set priorities

  • Provide engineering guidance and expertise to technical work force

  • Address any Safety aspects as a global business priority

  • Update project list on a weekly basis (forecast/progress)

  • Take part in or execute various assignments as required by department leader

  • As needed, coordinate the work of production support technicians

  • Draft action plans when necessary and ensure follow-up

  • Support and participate in continuous improvement efforts

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant mechanical or electrical engineering or related experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Design Engineering preferred

  • Overnight travel, including to Canada

Knowledge & Skills

  • Project management software, Microsoft Office suite, Autocad, Inventor

  • Superior communication skills

  • Acute analytical skills

  • Good time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks

In this role you will focus on the design and implementation of equipment that focuses on improvement of our testing and manufacturing processes. This is accomplished in a manner that satisfies all Safety, Product and Manufacturing requirements. Manufacturing Engineer Job Responsibilities: Develop and maintain, improve production procedures, shop layout, standard work, etc. Study and installation of production line under takt-time. Study, design validate, implement, train and improve and set up of automated systems. Completed system meets the Product specifications, test coverage and Manufacturing requirements Technical direction and monitoring of suppliers and contractors used. Design, specify, and track tooling and equipment as per Quality, Cost and Lead-time target Assist with establishing and maintaining safety practices. Lead and coordinate shop cell setups, organization, and layout activities, while ensuring all regulations and compliances are met. Lead and coordinate the activities to support existing engineering projects and coordinate new engineering projects to apply design for manufacturing/test standards for a cost effective solution Must act as a liaison between the manufacturing and engineering depts. which includes trouble shooting assembly and design issues. Perform process, product, and lean audits. Actively pursue and commit to company goals. Participation in quality and safety improvement through QRQC. Collection, analysis, and reporting of various data for the company. Ability to multitask is a must. Follow all safety procedures Must be a team player and solution provider Flexible work schedule Travel as required Manufacturing Engineer Job Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering, (Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical) or equivalent experience A minimum of 5 years in Transportation or Aerospace Industry preferred, relevant Manufacturing experience will be considered. Working knowledge of continuous improvement practices; 5S, TPM, SMED, VSM Computer literate, Microsoft Office, MS Project 2010, Visio, AutoCAD 2011, Solid Works 2013. Knowledge of GD&T, SPC and metrology Strong electrical and mechanical equipment design knowledge Experience in the Rail Industry a plus.
