Job Summary:

Trane Technologies is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer in Newberry, SC. In this role, you will coordinate, organize, and supervise production process methods and engineering activities that enable production. This includes sustaining engineering, new product launch processes, and continuous improvement activities. The position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining production processes to drive quality and efficiency and to develop manufacturing plans which achieve production goals.

Work arrangement: Onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts and organization, and station controls which optimize value added operations, operating costs, and product / process quality.

  • Evaluate and execute innovative, cost effective, safe, manufacturing processes and techniques which will improve the effectiveness of the manufacturing operations and business systems.

  • Find opportunities to employ process automation and present project justification for capital expenditures to improve productivity, quality, equipment performance, energy consumption, and downtime reduction.

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership for the timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems. Serve as a resource for cause / effect analyses, investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning.

  • Utilize a standardized problem-solving approach to troubleshoot product and process failures and develop root cause solutions to prevent reoccurrences through the final manufacturing validation process.

  • Support Rapid Improvement/Kaizen events with ideas and tangible lean tool applications.

  • Propose design change requests for improved manufacturability and standardization, and review deviations and design changes for feasibility in existing processes.

Key Competencies:

  • Prior manufacturing and welding experience, a plus, or willing for further welding education at Trane's expense.

  • PLC & Python programming experience, a plus.

  • AutoCAD and 3D modeling proficient.

  • Project leadership and team building skills required.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma tools and methodology a plus.

  • Ability to communicate effectively. Must be able to speak and write clearly and concisely.

  • Possession of initiative to further develop technical skills, interpersonal skills, and career path.

  • Must have a strong work ethic with a positive attitude, and be customer-focused, team-oriented, and results-driven.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar discipline required.

  • Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Strong mathematical skills.

  • Ability to train others.

  • Extensive knowledge of various Microsoft Office applications.
