Your responsibilities

This is an engineering role. The Manufacturing Engineer [ME] will be responsible for operational system design improvements to reduce costs and to increase productivity. The ME will work with the operational leadership to lay the foundation for Future Factory initiatives at tkANA. Key Accountabilities:

  • Operational system engineering

  • Supports productivity improvements through the integration of new technologies and processes into manufacturing cells resulting in cost reduction and increased efficiency.

  • Recommends capital expenditures, including all kinds of production and warehouse equipment, needed to support operational and strategic goals at tkANA.

  • Identifies requirements to support strategic initiatives like automation, operational analytics, and develop specs for equipment needs at the plants.

  • Identifies solutions and vendors who can support tkANA's requirements and supports contracting for capital projects.

  • Stays informed concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment, investigate potential applications.

  • Supports the exploration and development of new process technologies that can be incorporated into the business.

  • Supports Future Factory Vision that includes layout and flow change, and integration of manufacturing technologies such as automation, Cobots and other technologies.

  • Manufacturing support

  • Works with appropriate plant personnel to ensure the reliability and machine health targets are met or exceeded on a regular basis.

Your profile

  • Four (4) year Engineering degree Mechanical or Manufacturing (or similar) Engineering. Masters a plus

  • 7 to 10 years' experience in leading and implementing change in a manufacturing environment, including managing remote locations and redesigning manufacturing processes and systems

  • High level of technical knowledge and the ability to apply analysis techniques to product and process improvement projects

  • Manufacturing engineering practices, methods and design concepts; statistical process methods; DFMEA, electro-mechanical capabilities; machining technology, electronic circuits and components; programming & PLC as related to automation and robotics;

  • Effectively manage multiple projects across multiple facilities in the organization.

  • Must be able to break down complex situations, perform advanced analysis of complex data sets and information in order to deliver effective solutions

  • Strategic, creative and innovative thinking; excellent leadership and motivational skills; strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; concise and effective written communication skills (metrics, slide design etc.)

  • Willing to travel; domestic and international Up to 50% travel

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities: * Develop requirements to drive high quality manufacturing processes that will enable human flight * Identify, establish and provide the necessary tools, training, and strategic processes to enable high quality, efficient, manufacturing across the company * Drive company understanding of procedures and processes to ensure compliance * Define proper configuration management of manufacturing artifacts * Determine tooling and material handing requirements and best practices * Create and provide training on manufacturing standards and best practices through the product lifecycle * Communicate across multiple levels and programs * Participate in design reviews and represent manufacturing's interest * Identify manufacturing metrics, monitor, and drive improvements * Develop and maintain a disciplined vision towards continuous improvement in all aspects of development and production * Develop processes and tools for should cost and design to value * Identify, develop, and mature new manufacturing technology in support of all business units * Capture and communicate manufacturing lessons learned and best practices * Coach, mentor and technically assist other engineers * Provide technical guidance for manufacturing and integration Qualifications: * Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace * 3+ years of experience in one of the following disciplines; mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering * Proven experience and successful track record of taking ownership and delivering results * Strong manufacturing process development skills * Understanding of product lifecycle management * Ability to operate, make decisions, lead, and make forward progress in ambiguous environments * Ability to take on wide scope of projects and thrives in understanding interaction of multiple systems and programs. * Experience with MRP systems, work order creation, management, and BOM structures * Experience with DFMA and PFMEAs * Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floor * Working knowledge of manufacturing methods, testing, and development * Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
