Duties & Responsibilities

Brief description:

PCB Technologist collaborates with Hardware Engineering on designs for diverse and highly complex products. Creates PCB stack-ups that meets product requirement and is align to current PCB suppliers' capabilities. Provides support with Senior PCB technologist and PCB commodity team to provides strategic direction for Teradyne's roadmap and influences the PCB Industry's roadmap. Execute PCB technology projects to meet new technology requirements for Teradyne Products.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Interfacing with Design Layout and DFx Engineers to provide solutions for new designs that integrate all requirements

  • Development of part specific stack ups and impedance calculations

  • Supply base Gap Analysis / Needs Assessments and development of projects to close the gaps

  • Maintain written standard for PCB Design for Manufacturability (Internal Design Requirements)

  • Maintain written standards for PCB Product Acceptance (External Product Attribute Requirements)

  • New laminates' qualifications procedures, and implementation (Approved Laminates for Teradyne)

  • Integrates with the assembly DfM team to provide solutions meeting product requirement

Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required

  • Technical degree- BSEE, BSME or equivalent

  • 5+ years in the PCB Fabrication industry; 2+ years in PCBA manufacturing highly desirable

  • Excellent communication and team skills including writing technical documents

  • Affinity for problem solving, for innovating

  • Polar Si9000 experience

  • Advanced Microsoft tools suite skills

  • Knowledge of PCB process for Rigid and Flex circuits

We are looking for a Test Development Engineer to develop test strategy, test equipment, test software, product self-test software,and manufacturing test processes for Teradyne's Defense and Aerospace division. This position provides the opportunity to work across development engineering as well as manufacturing and production groups. Key responsibilities include: * Develop and continually improve manufacturing test processes for Analog, Digital and/or Optical test equipment including: test strategy, interface design, ATE, test software, fixtures, software tools, documentation, and process control capabilities * Integrate new manufacturing test processes into production. Serve as a technical resource for factory operations * Investigate and develop efficient test processes utilizing metrics to indicate results. Go beyond individual defect investigation and characterize to understand defect trends in order to influence test direction Teradyne is not considering candidates who require sponsorship for this position.
