SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Manufacturing Engineer performs senior engineering work and coordinates a variety of engineering duties. Independently performs the planning and design of production machines. Improves manufacturing methods and develops solutions to production problems relating to materials, processes, or tooling. Supports new programs by developing new processes, designing secondary tooling or machinery, developing production controls to maintain cost effectiveness, and determining/acquiring returnable and expendable packaging. Oversees the setup & employee training of new equipment and its optimum operation.
JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Designs and implements complex improvements to manufacturing process, tools, machines, or production design and establish procedures to ensure maximum manufacturing capability.
Develops, coordinates and maintains secondary, value added, and specific capital equipment specifications, overseeing design, fabrication or initial run-off of equipment recommending improvements in equipment, design or methods.
Provides detailed costs for purchase of new or revised equipment, including alternative options and comparisons to maintain optimum cost savings.
Develops and implements programs or processes to improve quality, productivity, safety and cost within the manufacturing area.
Investigates and manages Engineering Changes to determine if the change(s) meet customer requirements, standards, is feasible, is justifiable or accurate and recommends or rejects change based on all of the above.
Develops process for FMEAs and Flow charts for new and revised programs.
Investigates and resolves customer concerns or problems related to manufacture product, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Coordinates transfer of major programs between Techniplas divisions or between Plant and competitors.
Contributes high level of engineering experience in achieving company goals and objectives managing the completion of some large and small projects in manufacturing engineering.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):
Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering
Experience: Two to five years of related experience. Additional education may be substituted for experience and vice versa.
Experience designing and implementing improvements to manufacturing processes is required; with assembly and injection molding equipment is highly preferred.
