What does a Manufacturing Engineer (Stamping & Fabrication) do at Rinnai?

The Manufacturing Engineer (Stamping & Fabrication) will provide an experienced Stamping engineer to the Rinnai Operations Team to support the expansion of Fabrication of Sheet metal manufacturing and assembly. The primary work will be research, test, implement, and support solutions for the Stamping technology areas including computer aided engineering, die MFG, equipment, project, quality, materials, scheduling and Manufacturing process.

  • This position is located at 500 The Lakes Parkway in Griffin, GA.

  • Schedule: Monday

  • Friday
  • Shift: 6:00am
  • 2:30pm with required overtime based on business need.

What you will do:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and drive the execution of schedules, designs of experiments, trials, and evaluation of new technologies to determine best practices and vendor selection.

  • Interact with Rinnai Japan engineers and equipment vendors to design and/or source equipment.

  • Develop, implement, and manage processes, improvement projects related to improving equipment reliability standardizing our preventive maintenance program, and developing our workforce.

  • Responsible for the management of the following pillars of Total Productive Maintenance

  • Autonomous Maintenance

  • Focused improvement

  • Planned maintenance

  • Maintain improving manufacturing process and work instructions PFEMA

  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods for both in process and finished product.

  • Responsible for developing manufacturing processes, production floor layouts and associated tools.

  • Troubleshoot with a hands-on approach in resolving equipment related problems. Hands on support of manufacturing equipment and process implementation

  • Prioritize maintenance crew's workload to maintain a safe work environment for all employees.

  • Support plant cost reduction and process improvement projects using various tools such as PFMEA, process capability, DOE, Gage, R&R etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent degree (Mechanical Manufacturing, Industrial or Electrical preferred or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing engineering/process engineering experience OR manufacturing maintenance leadership experience

  • 4+ years of stamping manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Experience with Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software

  • Knowledge of OSHA, Lean manufacturing concepts (Six Sigma, 5S, continuous improvement)

  • Familiarity with Quality Systems

SKILLS

  • Understanding of stamping processes & die design is required.

  • Understands materials properties for steel & copper.

  • Provide technical expertise to various departments.

  • Mechanical aptitude, hydraulics, pneumatics, and controls

  • Knowledge of PLC controls

  • Knowledge of robotics controls, programming, troubleshooting.

  • Planning and organizational skills together with ability to effectively prioritize and define resource needs.

  • Strong project management skills
