Saxon Aerospace is a well-established North American firm that provides flexible staffing to aerospace companies. We are currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for a growing aerospace company in the Greater Seattle area.

A successful engineer will have excellent troubleshooting skills and will be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Aerospace Prepreg Composites
  • Interface with business units, cross-functional groups and suppliers on support tasks related to Quality & OTD, FA (Failure Analysis), RCCA (Root Cause Analysis / Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions).
  • Issue FA & RCCA reports to suppliers, follow up, review and approve supplier questions/requests.
  • Problem solve and present resolutions with thorough working knowledge of Quality systems methods and practices (DOE, PFMEA, Control Plans, Lean Manufacturing concepts, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis, etc.).
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
  • Perform first article inspection (FAI) of newly designed or revised products.
  • Inspect incoming products to ensure proper paperwork is received and parts conform to specifications, engineering and purchase order. In-process inspection of parts being manufactured.
  • Inspect sub-assemblies and all final products prior to shipment.
  • Interprets and reads engineering drawings, company and customer specifications to ensure accurate part manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related equivalent)
  • 3+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in the Aerospace industry
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards, manufacturing/quality processes, and documentation
  • Experience with SolidWorks
  • Detailed knowledge of GD&T and/or materials engineering
  • Working knowledge of quality system models such as AS9100 and configuration management
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings including GD&T, schematics, block diagrams and Engineering Change Notices for the purpose of specific inspection criteria and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated auditing experience with AS9100.
