Manufacturing Engineer

Moog Space Group in East Aurora is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to perform routine manufacturing engineering work requiring the application of stand engineering techniques and procedures. You'll determine manufacturing procedures, establish operation sequencing, prepare tooling and gauging lists, prepare and proveout N/C programs and write detailed operation sheets to meet engineering drawings.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Engineering to assist in the design of hardware that best fits current manufacturing and facility capabilities.

  • Prepare engineered or estimated time standards for setup and run hours for each operation.

  • Originate and conduct studies directly towards more efficient manufacturing of parts.

  • Provide timely and accurate N/C programs and work instructions.

  • Assure compatibility of engineering drawings and specifications with manufacturing and fabrication capabilities by reviewing drawing and making suggestions for changes and revisions to enhance producibility.

  • Coordinate with various departments and team members to assure the most effective design and use of manufacturing facilities and processes. For training and development purposes, may include some work that is typical of a higher level.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree, preferably in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, and a minimum of 3 years manufacturing engineering experience. Additional seasoned experience in manufacturing engineering that would be equivalent to what is learned in a degreed program would be an acceptable alternative to the BS Degree requirement.

  • Extensive knowledge of design engineering principals to assist in the design of weld geometry.

  • Possess human relation skills to work with Moog suppliers to coordinate operation sheets containing outside and inside operations.

  • Initiative to contact and coordinate with other groups when assisting in resolution of problems related to the manufacture of Moog parts.

  • Ability to estimate hours required to design and also fabricate tools and fixtures.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to technically direct, guide or train Manufacturing Engineering Technicians and Senior Manufacturing Engineering Technicians.

The base pay range for this opportunity is $69,638. - $105,000. per year. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, competitive 401K plan with enhanced matching program, and many region-specific benefits.
