This is a Santa Cruz Facility position: Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience with writing manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing and material handling in ERP (SAP and/or VECAMS). Ability to interpret engineering drawings and general understanding of dimensional tolerances.

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-07T00:00 Description:NOTE: This position will resides in Santa Cruz California until approximately 2022 when the position will transfer to the Lockheed Martin Denver Colorado as part of the FBM Reshaping effort. Relocation assistance is being offered for the move to Colorado. -This position will be heavily involved in the day-to-day activities of the FBM Reentry Assembly (ordnance and inert) manufacturing operations; coordinate with Reentry Cost Account Manager (CAM) and Program Plans & Requirements (PPR) for future year production rates; coordinate with Government Owned Contract Item Manager(s) (CIM) on Government Owned Equipment (GOE) repairs and liaison with other Reentry related programs (i.e., Extended Navy Test Bed (ENTB), etc.). * Provide support to the assemblers (and inspection as applicable) to make sure they have the correct training, right materials, accurate procedures, and properly working tools to perform their job. In addition, working with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering to collaborate needs in the shop to support tooling, schedules and quality needs. * Responsibilities will also include working extensively in SAP software to ensure service orders, production orders and Logistic Control Record (LCR) orders are coordinated and released as necessary and proper materials are available. * Performs activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control, total quality management, systems, manufacturing, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, contract inputs related to Reentry and process reengineering. * Assist Manufacturing Shop Supervisor and Manufacturing Engineers with personnel allocations for daily assignments and prioritization of work. Basic Qualifications: * General experience in one or more areas of manufacturing operations (assembly, fabrication, etc) * Able to work well in a team and able to provide direction to personnel on operational type issues and the ability to react accordingly to schedule changes * Experience with following written work instructions, coordinating inventory movements, interpreting engineering drawings and classified hardware handling * Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority Desired Skills: * Experience with SAP and SAIL software. * Experience with MS Project, excel, word and power point. * Experience with ordnance manufacturing and the associated aspects of ordnance safety. * Ability to understand Naval Industrial Reserve Ordnance Plant (NIROP) requirements driven from other regulations (i.e., NAVSEA OP 5 vs DoD Manual 4145.26) * Attention to detail and able to follow tasks through to closure. * Experience with crane usage and hoisting equipment. * Experience with leading small teams to common schedules. * Experience with tracking equipment calibration and consumable material expirations used in production.
