Description:RMS Manassas is standing up a new production line integrating lean manufacturing and automation and
robotics. Become a part of a collaborative engineering, manufacturing and quality team that integrates Design to Cost (DTC), Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Automation (DFA) to deliver a cost-effective solution to our customer. Be a part of the team that pushes the limits of electro-mechanical assembly by actively researching new uses and refinements for our robotic and automated assembly cells (including 5- and 6- axis robotic arms, collaborative robots, adhesive dispensing, soldering, automated positioning, and automated optical inspection). Provide day-to-day support to manufacturing operations to ensure quality, cost and schedule goals are met; Investigate, communicate, and solve design, producibility, and process related assembly issues as required. Define optimal material and product flow within the production work cell, taking into consideration the unique requirements of the customer. Generate and maintain detailed assembly work instructions including narrative, diagrams, photographs, attachments, and linked documents. Support the design change management activities. Analyze process performance and defect data and trends and help define and implement corrective actions. Perform and communicate non-recurring engineering activities during production start-up, which includes tooling and fixture design, development of machine automation programs as required, and configuration of the manufacturing bill of materials for manufacturability. Interface with technical counterparts in other organizations.
