Be a part of an organization, with a dynamic leadership team that truly values and appreciates the people that work there.  This is a state-of-the-art production facility that manufactures architectural wood doors.  They need a Manufacturing Engineer to add to their team.  This is a "hands-on" role that requires flexibility and the desire to be part of a team!

  • A growing $550 million organization with 800 employees, 3 divisions and 15 manufacturing plants.
  • This division has 200 employees.
  • Production orders booked out for a year.
  • Dynamic leadership team.

  • What you will be doing:
    • 65% of your time will be spent leading projects focused on driving Continuous Improvement of their manufacturing operation
    • Coordinate, design, and develop manufacturing processes using tools such as DOE, FMEA, SPC, and capability analysis
    • Work on capital projects and determine ROI
    • Support production and maintenance operations
    • Improve safety, quality, productivity, and delivery in all departments
    • Understand and apply ergonomics requirements to eliminate work hazards and improve work safety
    • Mentor, train, develop, and evaluate team members as required
    • Help develop and drive metrics for production teams
    • Communicate projects and progress to all levels of the company

Requirements

What they are looking for:

  • BS in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering is required
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Manufacturing Engineering, including strong Continuous Improvement work is required (preferably with custom products or in a job shop)
  • Experience with CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Creo) is required.
  • Experience using analytical tools such as:  DOE, FMEA, SPC is needed.
  • The ability to work independently is needed
  • Prior project management experience, start to finish, is highly desirable
  • Prior capital project experience is also helpful
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and value stream mapping is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff
