Job purpose

We are looking for an enthusiastic Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our growing PHINIA Global Support team! This position will support us in Troy, US.

Key Responsibilities

• Support to create specifications, and designs of equipment for assembly lines for electronics products.

• Support to document manufacturing plans and mechanical drawings.

• Knowledge in Software design to build fixtures and tooling for new manufacturing processes or improve existing ones.

• Provide Global Support to different Electronics Manufacturing Plants, for new products and re-localization.

• Provide onsite support for prototype builds, pre-production launch builds and safe launch phases as required.

• Support to follow activities with suppliers, run samples.

What we're looking for:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a minimum of a HS Diploma

• Must currently be enrolled in an Electronics, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering degree program

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge in MSD and Lean Manufacturing

• Able to read Product Drawings

• Expertise in specifying and integrating automation control and safety hardware.

• Technical skills include, but are not limited to, application of industry standards for dimensioning and tolerance, tolerance stack-up analysis, Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA), LEAN manufacturing, pilot line evaluation, etc.

• Familiar with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

• Familiar with Test Software, TestStand, LabView

• Self-motivated and proactive in developing and follow up on tasks with Engineering teams and Suppliers
