The Manufacturing Engineer (Injection Molding) will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL. Our Manu acting Engineer will develop, implement and support automated manufacturing systems for injection molding operations at Flex in Buffalo Grove.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:
Take leadership of equipment projects and implementation teams.
Develop equipment requirements and specifications for specialized molding, assembly and secondary equipment
Conduct equipment design reviews and provide design guidance to suppliers.
Manage equipment suppliers through all phases of projects.
Provide on-site support at equipment suppliers' sites during equipment build, debug and testing/qualification.
Supervise installation and testing to verify requirements and specifications are met.
Draft qualification protocols and manage equipment qualification activities.
Attend customer meetings at all level of discussions, getting customer inputs and presenting Flextronics manufacturing solutions, etc.
Interface with customers, suppliers, and functional owners to coordinate project activities and remediate project issues.
Lead production layout improvement projects to increase flexibility and product flow
Provide ongoing manufacturing support for installed equipment
Skills and training in systematic approach to solving problems through root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.
Experience in specification, installation and testing of end of arm tooling
Experienced with installation/programming/troubleshooting Wittmann and Sepro Robots
Here is some of what you'll need (required):
BS in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or 5-7+ years' experience in a plastics manufacturing related discipline.
Minimum 5-7+ years related experience in a technology-based industry, where automated assembly techniques are utilized.
Industrial Engineering experience working in a high-volume injection molding operation
Experience in a manufacturing environment using injection molding machines and related auxiliary equipment
Knowledge of automated equipment systems and tools - robotic, vision, material handling, Conveyors, PLC, HMI, Pick-Place-Pack, Inspection/Test (Structural and Non-Contact e.g. Laser), Application of lasers e.g. Etching/Marking, Dispensing Processes, Plastics Welding and Joining.
Experience using AutoCAD and/or Solidworks CAD tools
Familiar with Lean principles
Travel required 15%
