ITW Deltar Fasteners serves all the major OEMs and their tier suppliers with plastic fasteners totaling approximately $260M in revenues. Units include: Frankfort, IL; Chippewa Falls, WI and our Commercial Sales and Engineering in Troy, MI.

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer

  • Deltar Fasteners will report to the Technical Engineering Manager

  • Deltar Fasteners and will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes in the facility: Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project management of automation and related equipment, from concept development through successful production deployment.

  • Assist maintenance and production teams with troubleshooting of automation equipment.

  • Identify and proactively implement continuous improvements.

  • Repurposing and modification of existing automation equipment.

  • Analyzes and plans space requirements, workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

  • Confers with management, engineering support, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

  • Represent Manufacturing Engineering in cross-functional design review meetings.

  • Estimate production times and related costs to develop financial justifications needed for management decisions.

  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of facility personnel and outside vendors.

  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.
