Division Description
ITW Electrostatics, a division of Illinois Tool Works (NYSE: ITW), part of Test, Measurement and Electronics segment is industry leading manufacturer and designer of static control devices for equipment makers and end users. Electrostatics division revenues are ~$250MM per year and it is headquartered in Hatfield, PA USA. Division has operations in USA, Europe, China, and Asia, including nine manufacturing plants and 500+ employees. Electrostatics division brands include: SimcoION, Eltex, Pillar Technologies, Teknek, Opto Diode, Vortec, Paxton, AEGIS).
A manufacturing engineer evaluates product requirements, customer requirements, and process requirements to plan and design new or modify existing manufacturing equipment. Establishes operating equipment specifications, improves manufacturing techniques and production yields, and introduces new process equipment to improve production efficiencies. Provides engineering support to manufacturing including data collection and analysis, preparing process documents, assisting in failure investigations to ensure compliance to internal/external, design, modify or build, and optimize manufacturing processing equipment in the facility. Supports engineering development and testing activities as required.
Collect, analyze, and evaluate manufacturing data to drive continuous process improvements.
Respond to manufacturing issues and concerns to ensure product specifications are met, including troubleshooting and rectification of any existing errors or defects.
Supports root cause investigations for manufacturing area
Ensures completion of corrective actions based on root cause investigations
Conduct training on manufacturing concepts and tools; interface with all other engineering departments within the company and with customers and suppliers on quality or manufacturing related issues.
Responsible for complex evaluation, testing, and design of production processes. Makes recommendations to existing processes that will reduce cost, risk, and waste, and in turn improve quality, productivity, and yields.
Lead small to medium sized projects/studies, and monitor costs and timeline to successfully see through projects to completion.
Creates process documentation and may conduct training. May provide work leadership and training to lower level professional or technical staff.
Creating and maintaining company documentation, such as process travelers, and manufacturing procedures.
