Job Summary:

Manufacturing Engineers learn production operations and the manufacturing discipline in a controlled environment. They develop manufacturing engineering skills, an understanding of manufacturing (cost, quality, safety and schedule), and RMD systems and tools. MEs build technical depth in manufacturing processes and are accountable for improvement and optimization.

Please Note: This position is located at the Raytheon Diné Facility in Farmington, NM. RTX- Diné Facility adheres to the Navajo Nation Preference in Employment Act in areas of recruitment and hiring practices.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Design, control, and improve the manufacturing process through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team

Improve cycle time and lead time

Implement manufacturing process control and performance monitoring

Create and oversee improvement projects

Translate engineering design requirements into manufacturing processes

Perform hardware defect analysis

Participate in corrective action investigations

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience supporting production in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with interpretation of technical documentation (i.e. Engineering drawings and specifications)

  • Experience with the creation of work instructions in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with a shop floor management system (i.e. SAP, PRISM, ERP, MRP, or similar manufacturing software)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF)

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering

  • Experience with lean manufacturing and project execution

  • Experience with technical writing

  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance analysis

  • Experience reading, understanding and using drawings, schematics, blueprints and/or operating manuals to solve technical production and equipment problems

  • Strong engineering aptitude and analytical skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Technical problem solving

  • Active DOD Security Clearance

  • Demonstrated ability to follow rules and regulations. Willing to comply with all pertinent Raytheon Environmental, Health, & Safety Organizational Directives and Instructions and other applicable Program and Site Directives and Raytheon Company Policies

  • Understanding of all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development and advanced manufacturing initiatives, continuing through production implementation and extending to support of customer requirements and supply chain demands

  • Experience in statistical process control

  • Experience in accurately diagnosing problems and implementing solutions to restore production functionality

  • Demonstrated analytical skills to ascertain production or process weaknesses and provide process improvement solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to select new machines, components and equipment to meet program performance requirements

  • Experience in adjusting software parameters on production or process equipment to fix problems or improve performance

  • Demonstrated ability to be organized, self-motivated and dependable. Works well with others in a multi-tasking environment

  • Capable of diagnosing problem root cause with limited upfront information

  • Ability to perform project management and risk mitigation

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
