Responsibilities:
Process development, equipment specification, acquisition and implementation.Works to identify root cause of manufacturing failures using structured problem solving.

Applies root cause fixes to prevent reoccurrence.Evaluation of machine logic, electromechanical systems and process controls to troubleshoot equipment. AutoCAD or Solidworks drafting and design capability.Completes design of experiments, validation, completion of testing and analysis of data for continuous improvement activities.Presents data to equipment teams.Suggests and supports new methods or materials for continual improvement of quality and efficiency.Creates and revises manufacturing documents, specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety instructions, validation protocols, risk assessments, and procedures and other technical documents

Works with other engineers and technicians in developing solutions and improvements in materials, equipment and process as necessary

Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree (BS) in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum three years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

In this role, you will provide support for product quality assurance, processimprovements and all quality system programs at the Scarborough Site. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for supportingproduct development from concept through sustained manufacturing of FDAregulated products. Completion of process development, equipmentacquisition and leadership of supporting development partners. Experience withmanufacturing processes, quality/cost savings initiatives and implementation ofengineering principles while assuring compliance with cGMP, quality and safetystandards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities includethe following. Other duties may be assigned. Process development,equipment specification, acquisition and implementation. Evaluation of machine logicand controls to troubleshoot equipment and identify process improvementopportunities. Integration of controlshardware and software into new and existing manufacturing equipment. Design of experiments,validation, completion of testing and analysis of data. Suggests and supports newmethods or materials for continual improvement of quality and efficiency. Analyzes current equipmentfor process suitability and provides detailed plans for improvement Creates and revisesmanufacturing documents, specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs),safety instructions, validation protocols, risk assessments, and procedures andother technical documents to ensure compliant, efficient and safe procedures Works with other engineersand technicians in developing solutions and improvements in materials,equipment and process as necessary Actively participates in teamsas necessary to ensure continual improvement, safety and compliance Lead cross functional projectteams and coordinate activities BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience with common manufacturingautomation technologies and architectures is required. This includes but is notlimited to: * Programmable LogicControllers (PLC's) (Allen Bradley Logix5000 experience preferred) o Ability to read andtroubleshoot existing ladder logic. o Ability to generate newladder logic for the sequencing of complex manufacturing tasks. * Human Machine Interfaces(HMI) (Allen-Bradley Factory Talk View experience preferred) o Ability to modify andtroubleshoot existing user interfaces. o Ability to design andimplement new user interface functionality. * Motion Control to includeServo Drives, VFD's and Stepper Drives. o Ability to troubleshoot andtune control loops. * Robots (Staubli and/or Epsonexperience preferred) o Ability to modify robotprograms and taught positions. o Ability to sequence newrobot paths and functions. * Vision Systems (Cognexand/or Keyence experience preferred) o Ability to troubleshootexisting vision inspection applications. o Ability to design newsystems to include lens and lighting selection. o Ability to create robustinspection logic for the disposition of product. * Electrical Aptitude o Ability to read and tracemachine control systems from electrical prints o Ability to troubleshootcommon machine control hardware (relays, fuses, breakers, etc.) o Ability to generate andmodify electrical prints to support controls upgrade and integration PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS * Three to five years' experience in the medical device industry or regulatory function preferred. * Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) Certification. * Knowledge of Ensur and Agile programs.
