Job-Title: Manufacturing Engineer; Work Location: 2601 Camino Del Sol Oxnard California 93030 United States; Duration: 6 Months Develop new processes, improve existing manufacturing processes, and develop the required process and operational execution with an excellent team of experienced assembly mechanics, machinists, and engineers.
Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the manufacturing environment. Develop efficient process flows and sequences of operations, optimized production area layouts, manage bills of materials, create detailed work instructions, process procedures and tooling requirements with emphasis on safety, foreign object elimination and equipment/system maintenance. Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of new capital equipment for establishing expanded production processes.
Support manufacturing review board, discrepancy reports, dispositions and technical suggestions for assembly issues. Select roles will also support final acceptance testing of product and provide technical support to test facility operation as necessary. Select roles will also support spacecraft and final assembly integration.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology Engineering or Math) with 5 years of relevant work experience; Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of relevant work experience; PhD with 0 relevant years of relevant experience. Must have fluency in MS Office software applications.
Experience leading technical projects requiring project planning, scheduling, resource identification and financial management. Experience utilizing digital work instruction generation in MES or equivalent.
Experience utilizing a modern ERP system such as Costpoint or equivalent.
Experience developing manufacturing processes for complex assemblies. Ability to read, understand and provide manufacturability inputs to engineering drawings. Exposure or specialization in mechanical assembly processes.
Experience in continuous improvement. Experience in detailed technical writing. Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with J-STD and MIL-STD requirements 3D modeling experience in Solidworks/NX Experience with the Teamcenter Manufacturing tool suite and Manufacturing Process Planning Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Exposure to deployable mechanisms and large equipment structures. Exposure to surface preparation and structurally bonded joints. Manufacturing equipment, product testing and facility operational experience.
