TransCore Amtech Systems, LLC (AMS), a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc, (NYSE:ROP) is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Engineer I to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Job Summary:
Under the direction of a more senior Manufacturing Engineer, assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. The person acting in this capacity will be involved in many of the activities outlined in the essential duties section, but in a support capacity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Participates in the development and verification/validation of the manufacturing process for new and existing products.

  • Supports the manufacturing process by addressing manufacturing related issues as the arise.

  • Investigates and implements methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the manufacturing process.

  • Differentiates between manufacturing, design and component problems, and drives resolution of the issue with the appropriate group or organization.

  • Implements data collection system for a product to facilitate the tracking of manufacturing related data (Test Yields, Manufacturing fallout, through-put).

  • Monitors and optimizes through-put and quality of the Surface Mount and other manufacturing processes.

  • Interfaces with Engineering to make sure new product designs meet DFM guidelines.

  • Attends new product design reviews.

  • Documents test equipment operator and maintenance procedures.

  • Programs X-Ray and Surface Mount equipment.

  • Performs equipment repair and maintenance.

  • Performs FMEA's as required.

  • Performs hands-on operator training of manufacturing equipment.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 1-2 years related experience in electronics or manufacturing.

  • Must be familiar with Process Flow Control.

  • IPC Soldering Standards.

  • PCB Manufacturing.

  • Surface Mount equipment.

  • Reflow processes.

  • Statistical analysis.

  • Design for Manufacturability.

  • Implementing systems for continuous improvement.

  • ISO9000 Standard.

  • Advanced Debugging and Testing skills.

  • Troubleshooting.

  • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.

  • Must have advanced problem solving and communication skills and be able to multi-task.

  • Must be conscientious and detail oriented.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • MS Office Software

  • Hardware Interfacing skills.

  • Software Integration skills.

  • Technical Documentation.

  • Installation skills.

  • Systems/Software support.

  • Hardware Design.

  • Database and Reporting Software experience.

  • Six Sigma.


  • Bachelor's of Science degree in a related field from a 4 year college or university.
  • AAS in Electronics with 2-3 years of experience will be considered.

Job Summary: Manufacturing Operator II performs various mechanical, automated, or hand assembly, and processing of assemblies and sub assemblies. Soldering of printed wire assemblies. Under limited supervision, uses visual aids, wiring lists, and written instructions to assemble, solder, rework or reassemble units or sub assemblies. Set up, operate and perform routine maintenance on process equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned) * Mechanical, hand soldering, or building of printed wire assemblies (PWAs) to meet or exceed established quality standards and per the documentation or instructions provided. * Operates Automated and/or manual assembly equipment such as Pick-N-Place, Wave Solder equipment, and other computerized automated processing apparatus. * Provides accurate electronic or hand written data and/or information. Required Skills & Experience: * Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently * Must have good math skills and ability to reason * Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience * Must be able to solder printed wire assemblies, identify electronic parts and hardware by color codes and part numbers * Must be able to to use volt/ohm meter * Knowledge of calipers, micrometers and other assorted precision measurement tools and instruments * Must be able to regularly lift 10lbs and occasionally lift 25lbs Desired Skills & Experience: * Ability to perform various but repetitive mechanical assembly operations of assemblies and sub assemblies * Ability to work automated and manual processes of assemblies, sub assemblies and labeling. * Ability to perform setup and operation of Pick and Place equipment, and operating end of line and x-ray equipment * Basic Computer Knowledge/Skills * 2 years prior assembly experience or graduation from an accredited electronics school within the last 2 years Education: * Requires high school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and/or airborne particles* Intellitrans Albuquerque NM
