The GE Aerospace site in Jacksonville is unique. We manufacture electronic

component parts in addition to having a Repair & Overhaul shop for GE Engines. Our

climate-controlled site embraces diversity and career advancement. We have 9 active

employee resource groups.

Role Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer will define and control production processes, ensuring the selection and maintenance of tooling and equipment. This on-site role is crucial in validating design specifications, driving continuous improvement, and enhancing the shop floor operator experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define and control production processes, including the selection and maintenance of tooling and equipment.
  • Validate design specifications and ensure their practical application on the shop floor for new products, tools, or equipment.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines relevant to manufacturing and production.
  • Utilize prior experience and technical expertise to execute company policies and strategies.
  • Understand key business drivers and use this knowledge to achieve work objectives.
  • Integrate the work of your team with other teams to contribute to overall business goals.
  • Exercise judgment to propose innovative solutions within set parameters, with guidance as needed.
  • Solve straightforward tasks using prior experience and on-the-job training.
  • Access and apply technical skills and analytical thinking to resolve problems.
  • Collaborate with multiple internal sources outside of your team to make informed decisions.
  • Provide informal guidance to new team members and contribute to their development.
  • Utilize lean principles to drive continuous improvement and enhance the shop floor operator experience.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills. You have a solid background in manufacturing and engineering, and you are passionate about driving continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, OR a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and/or engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing and/or engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems effectively.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, with the ability to hire and develop talent as an early people leader.

Additional Information

  • Work Shift:1st Shift (United States of America)
  • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
  • Background Check: All candidates will undergo a background check.
  • Drug Screening: Pre-employment drug screening is required.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform tasks related to production process control and equipment maintenance.
  • Work Environment: This role requires working in an industrial setting with exposure to factory conditions.
