In this role, you will develop andimplement cost-effective, lean processes for assembling and testing products inmanufacturing. Work closely with crossfunctional teams in production,service, product development, and with our suppliers to drive continuousimprovements in current processes and products to meet Global Quality Metrics.


  • Improve External Quality by 50% -Dec. 2019

  • Improve Internal Quality &Yield by 15% - Dec. 2019

  • Support production team in driving internal process/quality improvements,supplier quality improvements, engineering change orders,

  • Act as NPI Engineer whenapplicable for new product launches transferring into production

  • Utilize effective problem solvingtechniques to define problems, determine root causes, verify and implementcountermeasures, and sustain results inelectromechanical and optical systems

  • Drive product quality improvementthrough process development and design changes internally and with suppliers

  • Learn and utilize knowledgeof lean tools such as Standardized Work, PSP, WasteElimination in driving process improvements to improve process efficiencies

  • Support daily production relative tobuild (process) and quality issues

  • Support evaluation andimplementation of Engineering Changes

  • B.S. in Engineering or related experience in thefield

  • 1-3 years' experience in amanufacturing role

  • Ability to manage multiple andfrequently shifting priorities

  • Excellent verbal communication andwriting skills

  • Ability to work on cross-functionalteams as well as independently

  • Creative thinker with excellenttroubleshooting skills

  • Driven individualwith passion for improving quality of products

  • Experiencedriving quality improvements with suppliers

The candidate can look forward to supporting a wide range of geotechnical engineering assignments, often at Bay Area and northern California sites with unique geologic conditions and sometimes out-of-state and overseas. The successful candidate will work with the San Jose geotechnical group to support large Caltrans, federal, and local projects. He or she will serve as a geotechnical staff engineer, interacting with a dynamic, multicultural team of engineering professionals, geologists, and scientists from many related disciplines. Responsibilities for this position include: * Observe and log exploratory drilling and in situ testing * Preparation of technical reports * Observe geotechnical-related construction Perform geotechnical analysis for: * Feasible foundation types and depths, * Capacity of shallow and deep foundation systems, * Settlement, * Lateral earth pressures on retaining walls and resistance to them, * Liquefaction and seismic hazard assessment, and * Flexible and rigid pavement design. Minimum Requirements * Master's degree in Geotechnical engineering * Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) * 0 to 2 years of relevant experience * Strong analysis skills * Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to discuss projects with co-workers * Strong written communication skills and the ability to write concise and readable technical reports and documents * Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail oriented work, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management skills Preferred Qualifications * None What We Offer When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
