Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. This is a remote position that requires the candidate to be located in either Peachtree City, GA or Charlotte, NC. The Manufacturing Engineer position is one that requires a flexible and adaptable work ethic as you help navigate the Connected Solutions project work. This role primarily focuses on New Product Launches and Product Line Transfers. You will work closely with plants and cross functional teams to ensure key project milestones and metrics are achieved. This role will play a key part in helping develop the overall manufacturing footprint and capabilities for Connected Solutions including improved product designs, assembly processes, methods and technologies.

Travel for this role is anticipated to be up to 50% for about the first year if you are located in Peachtree City, GA. If you are located in Charlotte, NC travel is anticipated to be up to 20% for the first year or so.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

What you'll do:

  • Work closely with assembly plants to lead industrialization efforts for multiple New Product Launches and Product Line Transfer Projects.

  • Support project teams to ensure key milestones are achieved and work packages compete.

  • Work with engineering teams to improve new product designs for reduced cost and ease of manufacturing.

  • Specify, investigate, justify, and purchase capital equipment & tooling to accomplish primary function.

  • Implement process improvements which reduce labor by simplifying tasks (process automation) or speeds the process (increases the number of products produced in a set time frame). Ensure that the safety of all employees is maintained during process changes.

  • Develop methods to reduce overall plant costs - improved inventory control, quality improvement methods, etc.

  • Introduce methods of flexible manufacturing to meet JIT ideals-decrease the amount of lost time due to set-up/changeover, flexible tooling, etc. Initiate a safety review whenever a process and/or equipment change takes place.

  • Aid in the training of manufacturing personnel.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering work.

  • Must be eligible to work in U.S. without company sponsorship now and in the future.

  • No relocation assistance will be provided for this role. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Peachtree City, GA or Charlotte, NC will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service Member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Master's degree in engineering or business.

  • Lean tool execution and certification in 5S+ and Standard Work with exposure to other lean tools: Value Stream Mapping, 3P, Problem Solving Kaizen, TPM, Set up Reduction.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products

  • Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes

  • Knowledge of sheet metal processes-stamping, forming, welding, etc-automated assembly, PLC or computer control devices, tooling, packaging, industrial engineering, product design, and manufacturing procedures and methods.

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task

  • Experience with ProLaunch tools and work packages.
