The Manufacturing Engineering Data Analyst will focus on providing support for all aspects of our manufacturing operations through data extraction and analysis that helps identify performance and predictive trends - negative trends requiring intervention and corrective action and positive trends requiring understanding and replication.

Working with Process / Product / Production Support Engineers to identify opportunities for corrective and preventive action, this role will then work with all aspects of Operations, Engineering and Management to help identify sustainable actions that can be taken to drive operational excellence throughout the HMSC - S value stream.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, track and use key performance metrics (Scrap, Rework, FPY, OEE, etc.) to allow the Management Team to make better business decisions and to help drive continuous improvement in all areas of the operation.

  • Work with area engineers to improve existing systems and processes by providing data analysis of existing performance that is clear, concise and accurate.

  • Develop predictive models to improve engineering responsiveness to in-process results and trends in a more expeditious manner.

  • Work with Operations employees to improve the quality of the data collected.

  • Prepare reports with improvement recommendations by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and comparing it to historical performance.

  • Serve on and assist teams as needed that are tasked with making improvements in response to Data findings.

  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by management to support various safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field plus 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience with database structures, Server databases, queries, and other data analytic tools

  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis tools and techniques

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure that correct conclusions are drawn from the data.

  • Strong critical thinking skills: Must be able to look at the numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on their analysis.

  • Successful candidates must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and be flexible to changing priorities based on business needs.

  • Must have strong communication skills: able to reduce complex data into formats that can be easily understood by all levels of the organization.

  • Be able to work in a team-oriented atmosphere.

  • Strongly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications including Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with analytic tools / systems, SAP preferred

  • Master Degree a plus

  • Some shop experience is preferred

Are you ready to go beyond?</p><p>As a non-conventional machining process ME, you will work as part of Core ME to provide Manufacturing Engineering technical support to PW Module Centers and suppliers as we continue to increase production on our Geared Turbo Fan and F135 engine programs. Non-Conventional machining processes include various EDM types, Laser, and Waterjet processes. This position will be located in E. Hartford, CT.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul><li><p>Lead hole drilling projects, including multi-operation/technology non-conventional machining and inspection processes</p></li><li><p>Create work instructions utilizing Teamcenter and MES 2.0 (including specifications, engineering changes, QAD/process control, and tooling definition/requirements.)</p></li><li><p>Implementation of new capital equipment from specification and ordering through delivery, installation, and transition to production.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work from data such as solid models, part, and tool drawings, including part models with PMI.</p></li><li><p>Support Manufacturing Process councils including technology development</p></li><li><p>Mentoring/coaching/training of process ME's &amp; MED's in methods and tools.</p></li><li><p>Partner with quality, design engineering, and procurement to provide engineering solutions and solving manufacturing challenges regarding non-conventional machining processes, including advanced military and commercial engine programs.</p></li><li><p>Solve quality issues by engaging in root cause analysis, corrective action, and mistake proofing of manufacturing processes and tooling.</p></li><li><p>Proactively work with PW Module Centers and suppliers in developing PFMEAs and control plans to for high RPN processes to provide process control for non-conventional machining processes.</p></li><li><p>Provide urgent manufacturing technical problem solving for critical non-conventional machining issues.</p></li></ul><p>Basic Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials, or related technical field</li><li>5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering and shop operations experience with a technical expertise in non-conventional machining processes</li><li>U.S. citizenship required</li></ul><p>Preferred Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>Energetic, flexible, ethical, creative, with a positive attitude</p></li><li><p>Experience with Lean or Six Sigma and continuous improvement tools</p></li><li><p>Excellent written and verbal communication</p></li><li><p>Analytical problem solving</p></li></ul><p>What is my role type?</p><p>In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work.
