Position: Manufacturing Engineer - Controls and Robotics

Location: Fremont, California with routine travel to various business locations

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain automation equipment to support new and existing capital equipment with a focus on high-speed automation.

  • Own new capital equipment projects including writing standards, equipment specs, and partnering with suppliers to perform technical reviews and support Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT)

  • Identify and lead continuous improvement projects to drive equipment OEE improvements (availability, performance, and quality yield)

  • Act as subject matter expert for ISO 13849 - Safety of Machinery

  • Own multiple projects concurrently at various stages of completion and in various locations of the value-stream.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline OR equivalent hands-on experience in technical/manufacturing disciplines

  • 7+ years of hands-on & relevant controls engineering experience with electrical, automated manufacturing equipment and processes

  • Thorough knowledge and practice of ISO 13849 - Safety of Machinery

  • TUV Certification as Nord CMSE or Rhineland FS Engineer

  • Skilled knowledge of controls software (Rockwell PLC and Fanuc Robotics) and coding structure for ladder logic

  • Experience interfacing and leading MES implementations on various pieces of capital equipment

  • Experience with other controls programming languages such as structured text, and function blocks diagram is beneficial

  • Prior experience in a large-scale manufacturing environment and capital equipment procurement (~$10MM)

  • Flexibility to travel ~20-30% travel for domestic and/or international travel to supplier sites/ plants, etc

  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed in accordance with project requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline and equivalent hands-on experience in technical/manufacturing disciplines.

  • 7+ years of hands-on & relevant controls engineering experience with electrical, automated manufacturing equipment and processes. Thorough knowledge and practice of ISO 13849.

  • Skilled knowledge of controls software (Rockwell, Emerson, Siemens) and coding structure for ladder logic.

  • Prior experience in a large-scale manufacturing environment and capital equipment procurement (~$10MM).

  • TUV Certification as Nord CMSE or Rhineland FS Engineer.

  • Flexibility to travel ~20-30% travel for domestic and/or international travel to supplier sites/ plants, etc. Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed in accordance with project requirements.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications, preferred experience or familiarity with various EHS Compliance / Management Applications.

  • Experience working in an environment with a high level of equipment automation, robotics and test equipment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Practical knowledge and experience related to pressure vessels and related regulatory compliance is a plus.

  • Ability to interact effectively with suppliers, partners, vendors, and colleagues.

  • Strong written and oral communication.

Salary Range:

$125,000 - $155,000
