The Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op Student will assist Manufacturing Engineering (M.E.) with updates to manufacturing work instructions which include manufacturing order routing text and illustrated planning. You will be involved in a variety of projects that will broaden your experience and understanding of manufacturing processes.

You will be involved in continuous improvement events and activities as opportunities arise. At this level, a mentor is required to train and oversee tasks and activities. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June- December; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past December 2024.

This is based out of our Jamestown, ND site; may be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Development of Manufacturing Routings for cargo system details and assemblies. Core competencies at Jamestown include machining, sheet metal fabrication, processing, painting and assembly (both Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical).

  • Development of Standard Work Combination Sheets (SWCS) for cargo system assemblies. Visual representation of the build process is essential.

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement events to improve flow and linkage, increase point of use, develop standard work, reduce cycle time, and improve EHS and 5S.

  • Work on special projects and tasks as required by the department Manufacturing Engineers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Contract Management or an equivalent discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or course in CAD software

  • Completed Sophomore in college prior to co-op starting

  • Proven ability in software applications including MS Office Suite

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
